Chapter 3. The Secret

(Nova POV)

"Finally it's the weekend hell yes" I exclaim loudly to the emptiness of my room before jumping up from the bed and heading too the bathroom for an early morning shower.

After my shower I head into my room going towards the closet sifting through my clothes for awhile I decide on the outfit for the day.

Grabbing the aforementioned clothes I rush back into the bathroom too finish getting dressed taking off my pajamas I pick up the shirt.

It was one of my favorite shirts as it was a Vampires Everywhere shirt.

After throwing on the shirt I pick up the skirt I had chosen to wear it was a pleated red skirt with a skull belt throwing that on I brush my teeth.

Once I'm done I decide too forego make up again throwing my crazy hair into a high ponytail with that done I go back into my room grabbing my iphone before heading downstairs for breakfast.

Once downstairs I decide to eat a bagel with chocolate spread on it I sit down and eat quickly before looking for my parents.

I find them in the living room watching television "Good Morning" I screech out too them enthusiastically watching them jump a bit before responding to my rather loud greeting.

"Good morning Nola" they both respond before frowning in exasperation at my choice of clothes 'Yes' I thought internally grinning before skipping out of the room.

Deciding too pass the time by writing more poetry I run back upstairs grabbing my bag I glance at the time "8:10".

'Perfect' I thought 'I still have a few hours left' before I head over to Merry's for the day too hang out with her and Mindy and hopefully Alex as well.

I head back downstairs and out the front door sitting down in my favorite spot under our tree and begin writing.

-About an hour later-

I feel someone watching me I look up and jump a little cause standing no more than two feet in front of me was none other than Alex.

"ALEX" I scream in fright "What the hell are you doing standing there like that" I ask while trying too calm down the eratic beating of my heart.

"Nothing really just watching you" he replies smartly grinning widely before sitting down beside me.

"What are you doing" he asks me after watching me write for awhile "Just writing poetry" I respond leaning over slightly towards Alex and showing him my notebook full of poetry.

"Your really talented Nova you should get these published" he says in excitement while reading some more poems.

"Really you think so Alex" I ask him shyly "Yes" he says bouncing up and down while still sitting.

"Alex" I ask while giving him a strange look "Yes what is it Nova" "Are you alright" I ask. "I'm fine why do you ask" then he realises why I had asked.

"OH" he exclaims while going red and blushing smiling and scratching the back of his head.

I smile and shake my head while shrugging "You are one odd cookie" I say to him.

Alex frowns for a moment before smiling again "Nova can I tell you something will you keep it a secret and before you say anything I'm also gonna tell Merry and Mindy".

He asks me in a slightly shaky voice.

"Sure" I tell him I watch him take a deep breath before saying "I'm gay".

"Really I never would of thought" I say unsurprised Alex looks at me confused for a moment before understanding what I meant.

"You knew already" he exclaims in surprise "Well somewhat I wasn't sure until you said something" I reply giggling at his shocked expression.

He laughs along with me before sighing in relief "You really aren't mad" he asks "No if anything it's cool".

I respond while putting my notebook in my bag and getting up heading back towards my house.

"Are you coming" I call back at Alex over my shoulder.

I watch him jump up and run to my side before we head inside once in I run into the living with Alex following me "Mom Dad this is Alex."

 I tell them pointing too where Alex is standing awkwardly at my side.

"I'm gonna head over to Merry's now if that's alright" I ask them "Are you going too spend the night Nola" my dad asks.

"Probably" I respond "Then you may go just be safe" they both respond.

"Yesh" I yell happily "Well I'm going now so I'll see you tomorrow" I say before skipping out of the room dragging Alex with me.

I sit down at the table pointing at the seat next to me "Sit" I say too Alex while dialing Merry's number hoping she was awake.

I sigh in relief whe she picks up and mutters a cheery "HELLO Nova" "Cheery much" I say sarcastically to her over the phone.

I hear Alex snort in laughter as Merry responds.

"Well there's lots of reasons too be cheery today for" "I know" I respond.

"I shall be over in a few Nova" Merry says "Yesh" I scream excitedly before hanging up.

"Oh Alex guess who's going to Club Disaster tonight" I say grinning creepily hearing Alex groan.
