I'm sitting in the back of the room doing my work with my head down, singing something to myself when Tama Dil or so-called "Ta-Ta" has the nerve to clear her throat extra loudly. I dare tilt my head up ever so slightly and she exclaims "Wow I didn't know dorky over here could use her neck. Who knew right?"

I just roll my eyes and go back to what I was doing when suddenly she puts her hand under my nose and slaps my head up, and knocks off my glasses. "Oops," she says not so sorry. She walks over quicker than I can to pick them up and grabs them with her sticky fingers. "You want these, come and get them," Tama says as she waves them in the air. When my fingertips graze over the rims she drops them. The next couple seconds feel like hours as I feel time stop. Watching my glasses hit the floor in slow motion and her foot stomps them to bits. My jaw hits the floor as my heart drops to my toes.

Tama has always picked on me ever since the 2nd grade; ever since then, I have been the outcast that no one likes. I only have my best friend Lilly Hansel. Lilly has been my friend since 1st grade, she's the only friend who didn't ditch me after Tama's first act.

After gathering my thoughts I look up to meet Tama's devilish gaze. "Wow, I never knew you looked good without your glasses on dipshit. Ha, as if," she says waving a long bony finger at me, and goes and sits back down.

I look up to the teacher, squint my eyes, and see the teacher is just looking at her computer. I look with deer-wided eyes in astonishment that she is emotionless. She doesn't look up once. I place my palms on my forehead in disbelief. Tama has never gotten this bad. I look up and around once more to survey the room and everyone is staring at me. I duck my head down and my eyes wander to my broken glasses on the floor. Shit, I think and close my eyes shut. I force them open again and slump down to the ground and begin to clean up the damage of my glasses. The bell rings and I clean up my work and grab the pieces of my glasses. On my way out I throw my glasses in the trash. "EMMA!," I hear someone yell behind me.
