Bleach..... why do I smell bleach. I take a big breath in, my eyes shoot open, I turn my head away from the smell and cough. Wow, that was strong. I blink many times to focus my eyes and I see a table with a lamp on it. The light is shining right in my face, giving me a headache. I look down and I see that I'm in a chair tied with ropes and zip ties. I wiggle around trying to free myself but it doesn't work.

"It's no use trying to get out Emma," says a voice that sounds like it's coming closer. "Who are you and what do you want with me!" I scream. Suddenly a tall black figure appears behind the table, sitting in a seat across from me. "Oh Emma, you should know already," the mysterious guy says shaking his head. "And why the hell would I know that!" I say. He reaches across the table in a quick and swift movement grasping my jaw with his hand. "You really should learn when to be quiet," he says squeezing my jaw with his hand. While he this close to me I notice that he has shaggy dirty blonde hair with dark green eyes. His face has sharp and rigged features. He is also wearing all black probably trying to look intimidating. After I look at him, taking him in, I say, quieting and precisely through gridded teeth, "Where. Are. My. Brother. And. Friend." The man lets go of my jaw but then slaps me across the face, so hard it splits open my lip. I'm so high with adrenaline that I don't even feel it.

"Scumbag," I say spitting saliva mixed with blood in his direction. The man leans back in his chair so I can't see his face anymore. "Emma, Emma, Emma, what am I going to do with you," he says as I hear him crack his knuckles. "Who are you anyway?," I ask. "If you must know," he says leaning forward so I can see his face again, "My name is Jones, Robert Jones, Mr. Jones to you." "Okay, and how do you know me," I ask staring him straight in the eye. He sighs and then reluctantly says, "I am the leader of an organization that is recruiting people with powers, people like you for example. We have someone here who has a power that knows when someone gets powers. So that's how we know about you Emma Ann Emerald."

I can't believe this, wait then why did they take Max and Matt? "Where are my brother and friend," I say trying to readjust in my seat, which doesn't work. "Oh, Max Emerald and Matt Screen. Their being interrogated just like you right now. We don't know if they have powers yet but they might develop them, so we are asking them questions. Don't worry about them, their in great hands," Jones says flexing his hands which turn to stone. Oh my gosh, I have to get out of here! I start trying to break free from the ropes and ties but it's no use. "Whoa, whoa, whoa there missy," Jones says standing up. "Don't call me missy, Jones! I have to get out of here," I say as I continue squirming. I manage to knock the chair over and I hit my head hard on the concrete floor. My vision started getting fuzzy when I see Jones two inches from my face. "I told you it was no use missy," he says running his hand on my cheek. I would try to get away but before I can I drift out of consciousness.

My eyes flutter open, still dazed. Then suddenly I remember what happened and I start frantically looking around for Jones or anyone really. I only see a faint light in the distance. Where the hell am I? "Hmmmmlp," I try to scream. But it doesn't go far, I move my tongue around in my mouth when it touches cloth. Damnit! Jones was right about me not being quiet, now he silenced me. I can only see faintly about two feet in front of me. I use my fingers to try to feel my current situation. I figure out I'm still in the same chair I was in earlier. Well what if I try to use my powers to slice open the ropes and zip-ties. But if I do it wrong I could hurt or possibly kill myself. Well, I'll take that risk.

I close my eyes to try to focus all my energy into my fingertips. Come on, come on, come on, I think to myself. I open my eyes to streaks of lightning dancing around the tips of my fingers. Yes! I direct the lightning streaks to cut the zip ties holding my hands captive. They zap over the thin but tough bands. Snap! One off one to go. I do the same thing to the other. Success, my hands are free. I can't believe that actually worked, I can kinda control my powers. I untie the ropes around my torso and chair, and throw them to the ground. I then reach behind my head and untie the cloth around my head and in my mouth. I throw it angrily to the ground, then spit in its direction. "Gah. Gross," I say in a whisper. Finally I move my hands towards my ankles and use my powers to zap off the zip ties around my ankles. I stand up slowly a bit unsteady at first, but once I get my groundings I take off running.

I don't know where I am going but I know I need to find Max and Matt and then get out of here. I can't see anything, it's pitch black, I'm probably in some abandoned warehouse. While I'm running I try to check my pockets to see if I have anything in them. Nope, their empty. Well, darn, I think to myself. I stop for a minute, out of breath. I try to control my breathing so I'm not so loud, In through the nose...out through the mouth....in....out.....in.....out. After catching my breathe I try to feel around to try and find a wall. After awhile of helplessly wandering around I decide to walk in one direction, because I am bound to hit something right? I am walking straight for about 5 mins when I feel something hard. I run my hands over it and feel around, I believe it's a wall so I follow it.

After a moment I feel like I am turning a corner, so like the lost, hopeless person I am, I follow it. Suddenly an idea pops into my head; I have electricity powers I can just find a light using my powers. I close my eyes in till I feel something flowing inside me. I feel something like a switch and I twitch my face and...Click. I slowly open my eyes and see dim lights turn on in a rhythm. Nice, now I can see a little better. I start running again, turning about every corner I see. I hear running footsteps so I stop mid run and slowly turn around and directly behind me is what looks like Jones. Stopping was a bad idea, I go to turn and run when I feel a sharp pain in my back. I arch it from the pain and fall limply to the cold hard concrete floor. That's the last thing I remember, is my limp and pained body hitting the floor and a muffled voice saying, "You really are stupid Emma."
