I suck in a breath as if I haven't breathed in 300 years. I look around, close my eyes, force them open again. I blink a million times before they focus like a camera lens taking a photo of this bizarre situation. I'm in the nurse's office. I scan the room and there's no one in here. I sit up, feeling a slight ache from Tama's assault. I decide that I should find my bag and leave. As I walk out I turn off the light, but I see a tiny spark hit the light switch; the lights flicker for a moment and then turn off. That's weird, I think to myself. I walk out to my car and drag my fingertips across the hood of the car. The headlights flicker on and off for a moment. I stop in my tracks take my fingertips off of the car, the lights stop flickering. I put my whole hand on the hood spreading out my fingers, and the headlights burn ridiculously bright. Okay, this is officially creeping me out. I open the door and put my keys in the ignition and the car sputters to start, but none the less I feel the electricity running throughout the car. Feeling every wire running with power in the car as if they were my own veins. That reminds me, I need to call Lily, she's probably worried about me.

"Hey Lily. What's up?" I say when she answers.

"Nothing just waiting at Firecrackers, which you apparently forgot about. It's three already! Where are you?" she exclaims, seemingly upset.

"Calm down Lily I didn't forget I got assaulted by Tama again and I passed out from the pain." I say calmly.

"Oh I'm so sorry Emmy, just hurry and drive over here I'm ordering milkshakes." she says with slight worry in her voice.

"Lily, I'm fine but I have to get off the phone so I can drive over there. Ok? Talk to you soon. Bye." I say trying to leave the conversation.

"Okay bye Emmy. See you soon." Lily says and she ends the call.

I pull up into the parking lot and look up at the neon purple sign that reads "Firecrackers." I turn off my car and feel a strange emptiness. I shake my head to try to get the weird sensation out of me. Doesn't work. I breathe in deeply and let out a sigh, then open the car door. I close it and then lock the car and start walking up to the double doors awaiting me. I open the doors and look around the corners for Lily. "Lily?" I call out in a medium size level of voice.

"Emmy! I'm so glad your okay! I already ordered our favorites' a strawberry and vanilla milkshake with fries. Come over here," she says excitedly and she directs us to our seats.

"Ya.... thanks Lily. Your the best. I've had quite the afternoon," I say exasperated as I sit down across Lily in the booth.

"Well, we've got time, tell me about it," she says as the waiter comes up with our food.

"Thank you so much," I say to the waiter. Then I begin to tell Lily about my awful afternoon. I leave out the part with the weird things about the lights of the car and sparks.

"Wow! That is a lot. I'm sorry I got so mad before. I'm just glad your okay. You seem awfully okay for that kind of abuse. Are you sure you're okay?" says Lily with a concerned and questioning look on her face.

"Ya I feel completely fine. Expect this empty feeling in the pit of my stomach, but that's probably because I'm hungry," I say only slightly lying but I was hungry. But deep down I knew it was because of these new "powers" I have gotten.

"Well, I'm just glad you're okay," Lily says with a smile on her face. "Well we should probably get going; you should probably stop at your house for your things before we go to my place. Meet you at my house?" Lily asks as she gets up and grabs her purse.

"Ya meet you there. I'll be there in 20," I say as I also get up, grabbing my wallet, keys, and my phone, I think purses are overrated. But I hope I get these powers under control I don't want to hurt anyone, especially Lily.
