Hello world.
(Fanart by dagillus on DevianArt
-this is how I imagine Katie's body type-)
———.————————-.——————.—————.
Warning foul language. Oops. Sorry.

So far, his day had gone awful. It was hard enough trying to control his powers on a normal day, but today, everything was going absolutely, completely, and "inexplicably" wrong.
Desks were levitating, people were being pushed by random gusts of air, and for some reason, the entire west wing had nearly collapsed from a random tornado. You'd think that was enough reason to send everyone home.
But, no. And Jack was kind of glad for that. He knew that at least his fire elemental was in this school. And he had suspicions of who it was too.
"What's up Daniels?"
Katie.
Katie was a friend of his that he had made that year. She had caramel skin , black hair, and brown eyes (with golden flecks-which were the first things that got him suspicious). If his suspicions were correct, he'd have time to make a firecracker pun about them later. If not, oh well.
And that would make things a lot harder too.
He looked up at her and, to keep things normal, glared.
"What do you want?"
"Just wanted to see how my pint sized nerd was doing."
"I'm not a nerd"
"You play Dungeons and Dragons during your free time."
"You did it once too"
"Yeah, you still owe me ten dollars"
"Hardy-Har"
A part of him could not stand his best and only friend. She was tall. Like, really tall. Like, impossible to get lost in a crowd tall. Even if she wasn't, her personality would make it impossible not to notice when she was missing from someplace. She was loud and boisterous. She made jokes and had something that attracted you to her, something that made you want her approval. She was your typical high school jock, you know, the one in the movie that didn't turn out to be a complete jackass. She played every sport she could, and had the body to show for it. Not to mention the great amount of medals, popularity, and drooling guys and gals at her feet.
She had big muscles, sculpted calves, and rippling abs. He wouldn't call himself scrawny, but he wasn't this built either, and the only problem with that, is that this beautiful, hand-chiseled, goddess was his only friend. And she was a girl. That wouldn't be a big deal for him, if he wasn't in high school, and if other people could shut up about it. He didn't understand all the hype about his only friend being an amazing athlete, but he didn't care.
Well, he wished that he didn't care.
But he did, and, he had to face it some day, he was kind of a sucker for approval. He tried hard not to show it, but it was kind of obvious when he changed his opinion, clothes, and once tried for his body(though Lady Jasmine Shut it down immediately) as soon as someone even whispered a single word about them.
According to Katie, he probably had a praise kink.
One thing that Jack would never admit to himself , was that in the deepest, darkest corners of his mind, he considered dropping Katie. Katie was an amazing friend, and despite her brash attitude, was always taking care of him, and making sure that he didn't get hurt. There were two other major reasons that he didn't drop her, and they were that
1. It would mostly look like she dropped him
And
2. Unlike her, he had no other friends to fall back onto.
So he was stuck with her.
Anyways,
"Hey Katie, I was wondering if I could ask you something?"
"Sure, Little D"
"Ugh, whatever, but do you remember learning about the elementals?"
"Um, yeah, in like, sixth grade, why"
"I, um, kindofamoneandiwaswonderingifyouhappenedtobeonetoo,particularlythefireone."
"That, is.....not funny"
"Huh?"
"Look kid, I've been looking for my guy for years, and I don't think you're it, got me? I don't how you figured out, but I know that they're here and close. I know you're a good kid, but I will not hesitate to crush your head with my thighs, if you fuck this up for me, Kay, so mind your own damn business."
He had never seen Katie this serious before. Even when threatening bullies or muggers, she would have this relaxed air around her that put the victim at ease, and caused the mugger or bully to leave their guard down. Jack had seen it in action and had always admired it. Now, she was scary, and he wanted to kick himself like a soccer ball for feeling a twinge of admiration. Her eyes we blazing, which made the gold more pronounced, and she looked like she would crush him, bring him back to life, and do it again, because she absolutely loathed him that much. He wanted to tell her that he was The Air Elemental, that he was going to be leading her, and that she needed to help him find the rest of their team.
He decide to give her a piece of her mind.
"Huh?"
"It'd be a pain to spell all of that out for you."
"Wait, why don't you believe me?!"
"Why should I?"
"Because it's true!"
"Wow, you've convinced me"
"If you don't believe me, why tell me all of that, why reveal yourself, wh-"
"Because Nobody will ever believe you."
"I'm the one who's been making all of that stuff happen today!!! I made the desks float And the tornado and everything!"
"Prove it"
"Okay, look"
He tried to get her now, condescending and slightly amused look out of his mind and focused on the locker. The door flew off almost immediately. He couldn't help how accomplished and smug he felt.
"Convinced?"
"No."
"What, why?!"
"Because any kid with special effects and time
Could've done that."
"But I'm not just 'any kid with special effects and time'!"
"That's what you trying to prove ain't it"
"Hey, look at me. You know me. Would I really lie about something like this. "
Her face shifted slightly and I felt hope rise in my chest. And then she returned to her stony look and said,
"Cut that crap, this isn't a movie."
I was angry. She was my friend(for a year) and she couldn't tell when I was lying(you can't either.) Shut Up Rational Thoughts, I was trying to think. Maybe I should just remove the entire wall of lockers. But she could just claim more special effects. Wait, I know,
I looked down and concentrated on her feet.
"Hmm, gave up, have ya. Look kid, your a great person and all, and you are truly my friend and I've never lied to you. I'd like to keep our friendship, but you can't tell nobody about this and don't try to convince me of that shit anymore, ok- Whoawhoahwhoahwhatthefuck?!!?"
I was levitating her.
"Do you believe me now?!"
"What the fuck, this is you?!?!"
"Do you believe me now?!"
"Alright, you fucker, okay, just put me down!!!
Oof!"
I tried to hide my satisfaction as she fell on her ass.
"Quit smiling you sadistic cunt."
I guess I failed.
"So my Air Elemental, my leader, is a nerdy runt, huh?"
"Do you expect an answer?"
"Shut the fuck up and let me think."
"Okay."
—————————-.————-.———-.—-.————.
"So I read somewhere that with two Elementals, and a Guardian, we can locate the relative location of the others."
"Relative?"
"Like Paris, France, for example."
"Okay, doofus, and,"
"Then we can feel their power levels, which should be restless, and harder to control, because they want to be in sync with the others."
"Okay, toothpick, but where are we gonna find a mentor. "
"I have one"
"No way!!! The Lady lets you have one"
"Three guesses."
"Lady Jasmine. The name makes sense. I guessing Earth."
"Correctumundo"
"Don't ever say that to me again bobble head."
"Sorry."
...
...
...
...
"Hey"
"What"
"Your eyes seem like they can....burn into my soul."
"Shut up."
