Ethan is pulling away.
Laura naman kasi, grabe makapressure.
I paced around my unit and cleaned imaginary dust, just to get my mind off what happened.

Last weekend, I tried to be cute. I asked Ethan if we could just stay in and watch game shows. We stumbled upon an episode of Jeopardy.
"Ang galing din ng nag-isip nito," Ethan commented.
"It's easy lang naman, if you think about it. It's still question and answer but done backwards."
"Hmmm..."
Buti nalang he looked unconvinced, so naka-segue ako. "Parang like this, for example, the category is... Positives. The answer would be 'This is the answer to the question you haven't asked me'."
He looked perplexed. "Huh?"
"Guess!"
"But I don't get it. A question I haven't asked? Tapos yan ang answer?"
"Yup!"
"Umm... what is gutom ka na ba?"
Natigilan ako. Shit. Mali yata yung sinabi ko. "Hinde! Dapat 'what is yes'!"
"Ha?"
Oh shucks. Fail. Hindi niya naintindihan na I want him to ask na.
"Kasi naman ang labo!" Mina teased, unable to stop her laughter. "Tapos, he clued you in na nga na hindi niya gets, tinuloy mo pa. E-engot engot ka din eh."
"Mina naman! Shut up. Help me. Nagalit yata siya."
"Nagalit? Bakit naman magagalit?"
Oo nga naman. Pero, "Bakit niya ako iniiwasan? Halos buong week ko na siyang hindi nakikita. Parati daw busy."
Mina looked at me. "Wala yun."
"Shit. Karma ko 'to. Karma ko 'to kay Benjie eh."
"Sabunutan kita, gusto mo?" Mina said. "Relax. Kausapin mo si Ethan. Walang mapapala yang pagka-paranoid mo."
Tama siya. So, I called Ethan when Mina left. "Hey. Ethan?"
"Hi, Sugarplum! What's up?"
"Dinner tayo? Makakadaan ka ba tonight?"
"Naku, may gagawin kasi ako. Pero babawi ako next week promise."
I frowned. "Busy pa din kahit weekend?"
"Oo eh."
"Ethan... okay lang ba tayo? Para kasing you're avoiding me?"
"Ha? No. No. Don't think that. Wait. Ayusin ko lang schedule ko. Dadaan nalang ako tonight."
I felt bad that he felt the need to rearrange things for me but I needed assurance.
Pagbigyan niyo na ako. Nasanay na ako na nandiyan siya eh, ayaw ko na mawala.

Grabe yung kabog ng dibdib ko when I heard those words from Laura. It wasn't fear of being caught doing something wrong, but it was fear that I was making a mistake with her and I may be too late to fix it.
Kasi naman, when she hinted at a question I hadn't asked her I felt like I should make my move already, so I drew up a plan and started executing.
