Okay, so we're doing this.

Yes, I ship this. I honestly think Serena has the strongest connection with Ash among all the girls. She even had a censored kiss with him.

But what bothers me is how the whole fandom treats this like the bachelor and spreads hate toward other characters, and the supporters of different ships.

I think all of this Let's ship Ash with every female protagonist that comes along for the hell of it, is what the writers want.  

Ash basically reboots at the end of every region, and we never see the side characters return regularly. Any ship moments of him with anyone is basically a tease. 

Ash's age is even a controversial topic for the fandom. He might not even be mature enough to have feelings/realize social cues from others like Serena that indicate a crush.

But if Ash grows up, I definitely want him to marry Serena. They have a solid friendship as a foundation, and they're compatible without being too much alike.
