WARNING & A/N: First parts of this story doesn't contain any BTS, just some foreshadowing. I have to lay out the stage first for things to make sense later on. Also, words written in bold are "said in English".
In the outskirts of Itaewon District, the limited basement space of a rundown establishment was filled with the taunting and excited screams of wealthy men and women. It was tonight's venue for one of the illegal MMA fighting pits that plagued Seoul City. These fighting pits were filled with seemingly gentle and dignified moguls and politicians. It is where they could let loose, where they could show their violent and vicious sides and no one would bat an eye.
These places were also where you found desperate individuals willingly get beaten to a pulp in exchange for a couple of thousand Wons, in exchange for another day's life line. It was also in these places that you found the few people who actually enjoyed getting hit and hitting back, the few who lived to win each fight. Lee Yoonsoo is one of those people.
He joined Han Joonyang's fight pit a year ago because of his desperate need for cash. But it didn't take long before he got addicted to the show of power and the attention he got each time he won. Three months in – he has already made a name for himself in the men's light weight division.
In his present life, no one knew he was once a girl named Eunsoo, save for his gang boss, Son Jaerin, and Jaerin's younger brother and her best friend, Son Jaeho. To get away with being technically bare-chested, he always fought with a white medical bandage wrapped tightly around his entire torso and right shoulder to hide one of the only two remnants of his past. The bandage also hid the massive tattoo of a black dragon, the emblem of his gang, which was inked into his entire back and a portion of his belly. The latter he hid because some people in the crowd were bound to be enemies of his boss and he didn't want to have an untimely assassination if someone wanted to get to Son Jaerin. This appearance had earned him the nickname Samurai – his long black hair that was tied back with a strip of dark leather matched his bandages. He looked a little like a cosplayer of Samurai X.
The crowd loved him. The men wished they could fight like him – he was named the undefeated in his division. The women wished they could have him with that lean body and beautiful face – it was like having a K Pop idol as your bodyguard. When ever he came out to fight on Saturday nights, the crowd was always noticeably thicker.
It was this crowd that pushed Yoonsoo back into the invisible ring and back to the ongoing match. He got hit with a flying kick to his left flank which sent him tumbling.
It didn't really hurt like a b**ch. Weird.
He smirked at his opponent as the crowd tightened the invisible ring around the two fighters. His opponent looked like he was soaking up the crowd's praises and was getting cocky. The other man probably thought he was going to be the one to bring down the Undefeated Samurai and Yoonsoo was beginning to think the man was possibly right.
Yoonsoo looked over his opponent once again, trying to look for an opening or a weakness. He just wanted to go home at this point. He didn't care if he lost this match, the money from the first two wins earlier tonight was already enough to supplement his and Jaeho's savings for the motor bike they've been planning to buy.
The sweaty cocky man across him started to approach once again. That's when he noticed the slight limp his opponent had. He must have landed his foot wrong when Yoonsoo tried to dodge the kick and the man's ankle probably got injured.
"Come on, chicken!" The limping man taunted as he inched a little closer to Yoonsoo. The match was taking a little longer than Yoonsoo had expected and it was taking its toll on him. He had to end it soon if he didn't want to lose. He had to make a move that would send his opponent to the ground so he could execute a finishing move.
