enjoy the food my starving orphans

I stood in King's Cross Station wondering how the hell I'm supposed to get to Platform 9¾, it doesn't exist. So here I am wandering around like a fool, with my trunk and cat carrier in a trolley hoping I don't miss the train. In case you were wondering both my parents are muggles, my dad left when I was really young so I've never met him, and my mum's clueless about wizards and witches. "Mum? We've only got 10 minutes before the train leaves me behind!"
"— Packed full of muggles today-" we heard a plump-looking redhead woman say, that perked my attention, "— what's the platform number again?" "9¾ mum" "Yes thank you Ginny" we followed them. "Percy, you first," he ran straight into a wall.
"Sir are y-" he had disappeared. Why the bloody hell just happened?
"Fred you next," "He's not Fred, I am!"
"And you call yourself our mother!" "Oh sorry, George, go ahead," "Only joking, I am Fred." They both ran into the wall as their mum tried to swipe at their heads.
"Excuse me?" My mum had asked the woman and she turned around, "yes, dear?"
"We were just wondering how to – to" "To get into the platform?" We nodded gently. "Don't worry it's my twin's first year at Hogwarts, too." Her last son peeked around his mum. "Now what you do is walk straight into this barrier between platforms 9 and 10, best do a bit of a run if you're nervous." He had appeared into my eyes view from around the lady, then the redheaded boy ran up to me, obviously too young to go to Hogwarts, "We can go together if you'd like?"
"Yes, please" we walked into the wall with his mum following behind. As I walked through the barrier I had seen a great, big, red train with the words Hogwarts Express on the front, I looked above me and saw the Platform 9¾ sign. "Oh, dear hurry there's only 5 minutes before the train leaves!" The nice lady exclaimed.
"Thank you Ma'am for helping me," I had run off to the train grabbed my truck and cat carrier from my trolley, and handed it to a young man collecting them up. As I looked around the train I found the two funny twins from earlier sitting with a young boy who looks like he had dreadlocks. I knocked on their compartment door and slid it open, "Sorry to bother you three, but all the other compartments are full can I sit here?"
"Of course, love" one of the twins said " I'm Fred he's George," said the other twin. "And I'm Lee Jordan, a pleasure to meet you." He stuck out his hand and I shook it.
"(y/n) (l/n)" I had said. We started talking about Hogwarts, "What house do you want to be in, (y/n)?" I have to think about my answer, "Honestly, I'm not even sure. What house are you three want in?" "Gryffindor, hopefully," Lee had said for the three, "Oh! Are you all brave then?" "We like to think so," Fred chuckled. I laughed along with him. After a while, they suggested that I change into my robes. I left to do so.

I arrived back to the compartment to find Lee, George, and Fred frantically whispering about something. "What's got all your knickers in a bunch?" I jokingly asked with a small smile on my face, tilting my head slightly. They jumped and turned around like they were hiding something. "We're just, um, prank ideas! We were talking about what start of the year kick-off prank we were gonna do." Fred said in a rush with a slight blush on his face. I was confused but laughed, "Alright then, can I join in?" I asked with a small smirk.

"Love, I can already tell we're gonna get along great," Lee beamed at me. I smiled, excited to have friends to look out for me and that I could have fun with.

(Time skip to gof)

I was packing my bag for the burrow, I was to spend the last week of summer break there, and we were going to watch the Quidditch World Cup. I really was going for Fred, he was so excited when he asked me to go, I couldn't say no, not to Fred. They were coming to get me later, and by they, I mean Molly and Ginny. She wants to take us for tea before we head to the burrow. It'll be nice to catch up with them and to have a little 'girl's day' in Molly's words. I think she just needs to get away from the house full of men for a bit. I need to ask Percy how everything with his girlfriend is going, last I heard they were fighting. Whatever the reason was, it was probably his fault if we're being honest. And George wrote to me about a summer fling he was having, but would not say who. Lee is simping for Angelina; Ginny is still pining after Harry. And me? I've been in love with Fred since my second year but he sees me as a younger sister in Ron's words. Honestly, I can't wait for him to realize his feelings for Hermione, so she can set him right, but that is just wishful thinking on my part.
