As I said in the description, this is based off a senior film by Carolyn Christman called 'Reversal of the Heart.' It had me crying at the beginning. Anyway, I am trying to flex my creative juices while trying to work on Jungle Love and the other Mickwald stories I promised. Anyway on with the story.

Our story begins in the mountains far from civilization, where only the bravest knights tread. Why you ask? For dragons roam these mountains! Each dragon that inhabited this area came in different sizes and colors with one thing in common: a gem attached to their chest. The gem was similar to that of a human soul. Even if any harm should come to the dragon, its soul would still remain inside the gem. Upon the many dragons that lived here, there was no one quite as powerful as Queen Minerva. Yes, Minerva was quite a sight to behold. She stood over 8 feet tall with scales as black as the night sky. She had crimson red eyes that matched her shining gem. The same eyes that struck fear into those who might threaten her kingdom, were also calm and caring. Today was especially a good day, for it was her first time as a mother.

Minerva walked out of her cave with her son following closely behind her. She looked over the rocky terrains, then turned to smile at her child. She purred, nuzzling him lovingly as their gems glowed in sync. The baby then crawled towards the cave chirping as his gem glowed. Minerva smiled as she took flight, leaving her child to focus on catching today's breakfast. The child watched her from the ledge in awe; admiring his mother's flying. A butterfly then fluttered by, taking his mind off his mom. Feeling in a playful mood, the baby dragon skipped after it towards the cave. Distracted by the elusive butterfly, the baby dragon was oblivious to a shadow looming over him. He turned, barely avoiding the attack of an unknown intruder. As a blade met with the cave walls, the baby dragon fled from his attacker. His gem glowed frantically as he squealed for his mother.

The baby ran further inside the cave, but was met with a dead end. He looked up at the eyes of the intruder with fear. It was a black cat with dark brown eyes, and judging from his armor he was a knight hell-bent on hunting his kind for their gems. Having cornered his prey, the knight rose his sword ready to strike. The baby gave one last squeal of terror as his murderer delivered the final blow. With the task completed, the knight  snatched his prize from the baby dragon's corpse and rushed out of the cave.

Minerva's eyes and gem shined brightly as she dropped the dead rabbit she scavenged. Her son was in danger! She flew back to her cave, only to be met with a horrific sight inside. Nuzzling the corpse of her dead baby, she looked for any signs of life, when she noticed something amiss. Her son's gem was missing! She looked down and noticed bloody footprints leading out of her cave. She growled in anger as her eyes flashed crimson in the direction of her son's murderer.

Minerva then flew towards a rocky temple. Inside, multiple dragons were roaring, arguing, and playfully fighting until Minerva flew in. She hastily made her way towards a giant glowing crystal, as the other dragons stared in silence. She put her claws on the crystal and closed her eyes. The crystal hummed, revealing her son's murderer and where he was heading. She stared in silence as she saw the knight riding his horse with her child's gem; now connected to a golden band. The loner rider raced through a lush meadow towards what seemed to be a castle.

Inside, a young female rabbit of noble birth sat on her throne, as the knight bowed before her. "Dear Princess Olivia, I present to you a gift as proof of my eternal love!" the cat presented the amulet to the young doe. "Oh Austin, It's beautiful! I love it!" She kissed her beloved, oblivious of how Austin came across such a beautiful amulet. Minerva glared with hatred in her eyes 'Foolish mortal! First, you kill my one and only son! Then you steal his gem just to propose to a girl?! Oh, just you wait, Austin! For tonight, your beloved princess will see you for the monster you truly are!'
