This Chapter of Change of the Hearts where Olivia meets Mickey. Will to work on the other books tomorrow if I have time.
Our story continues as a new bright morning started on the horizon, slowly lighting up the meadow. The sun's playful rays collected on a dragon's cheek who slept quietly in the tall grass. The sun tickled her ebony scales, causing her to take a deep breath and stir with a soft moan. Slowly Olivia opened her sky blue eyes and through her blurry vision noticed something very close to her face.
'Baa?" The sheep tilted its head curiously as it stood above her own head and gazed at her upside down. Olivia let out a scared yelp and with that bolted up from her sleeping position. The 'princess' gasped as she looked around frantically. She was hit by many new noises and scents. A group of sheep stood among the meadow grazing as a single goat took charge of watching the entire flock.
Olivia glanced down at her paws as the memory of last night buzzed loudly within her head. Her dearly beloved had gifted her with a cursed amulet, drove her out of the castle, and even threaten to kill her. She sighed as she looked at the very object that caused her misery. 'I have to find someone who will help break this curse....but who will help me when I'm stuck like this?' she examined her new body from the waist down to the tail. A grumble suddenly interrupted her chain of thought. It had been some time since she had last eaten, but she couldn't bring herself lay harm to any of these sheep; dragon or not. Luckily for her, there happen to be a bush of blackberries nearby. She slowly made way through tall grass towards the bush of ripe-looking berries.
Ignoring the stares of the timid sheep that scurried away from her, she pressed on. Once she made it to the bush, Olivia began to partake of her first meal since this whole terrible ordeal. The sheep only continued to stare at her. Most of them wondering were what of species dragon is there whose diet consisted only of berries. But they couldn't have known or guessed that this hungry dragon was really a girl who meant them no harm. Olivia barely finished her fill of berries when she felt a nudge from her side. Apparently, the single goat did not appreciate the commotion her presence was causing the flock. It proved this point further by pushing her more towards the forest.
'Can it get any worse?' As if to answer her question, the day had brought about dark heavy storm clouds that threatened rain. Thunder rumbled, as multiple drops of rain fell from the sky. 'Of course.' Olivia sighed as she continued her way through the moist forest. As rain ran down her scaly body, she stopped to see her reflection in a puddle. 'What if I am stuck like this forever?' She looked up to see an old abandoned barn. It may not be home, but any port from this raging storm will do. She slowly made her way inside, ignoring the stares from the hens nesting in their beds upstairs. She nuzzled up in a huge heap of hay, trying to make herself comfortable. She felt herself slowly succumb to sleep, even with the storm raging on outside. She could only hope that she'd find someone to help free her of this horrible curse.
The storm eventually died down, as rays of light shined through holes and fissure of the old barn. As luck would have it for Olivia, the barn actually belonged to a mouse by the name of Mickey. Mickey was a handsome young lad who had come from long line of powerful sorcerers, and he too was studying to be a sorcerer himself. However, his magic was too unpredictable sometimes, so he was stuck with the boring job as a farmer. He cautiously made his way to the barn with the feedbag only to be bombarded by a group of impatient hungry hens. Tossing the bag on the floor for the greedy hens, the mouse went to sit down. He pulled out what appeared to be a beginners spellbook and small wand, as he sat on the hay; unaware of the black sleeping lump behind him. He turned to a specific page and pointed it to one of the hens. "Oh boy! One day I just know I will become a great sorcerer! I'll be so wise and powerful, I'll be able to use my magic to help people, and uhh gosh who knows? Maybe I'll meet a girl. What do you think guys?" The hens stared at Mickey unfazed and then continued pecking at their breakfast. "Huh, some friends you are." Mickey pouted, as he returned to reading his spellbook. Mickey suddenly heard something crunch in the hay as the black 'lump' slowly began to move. Slowly Mickey's chestnut eyes turned to see that the black lump was a dragon just waking up. Yawning Olivia woke to see what was all the commotion, only to stare back at a frightened mouse. "Wah! D-d-DRAGON!" Mickey bolted out of the barn, only to trip over his own book. Olivia only stared at him, concerned for the mouse's well-being. She didn't mean to frighten him, especially if he was someone who could possibly help her. "P-Please don't eat me! S-s-Stay back!" Mickey pointed his wand at her unleashing a small spell in a small spark of magic. Olivia watched the spark hit her amulet. The purple gem began to glow, as it absorbed the magic. 'He's a sorcerer! Maybe he can break my curse.' She chirped as she slowly approached Mickey. Fearing she would eat him, Mickey closed his eyes. He was slowly lifted up by the scruff of his shirt, placed gently on his feet. "Huh?"Dumbfounded, Mickey focused his attention on the dragon. According to his training book, dragons are supposed to be scary blood-thirsty man-eating beasts who terrorized humanity for their treasure.
But this dragon didn't look like she wanted to cause him any harm. "Y-you don't wanna eat me?" Mickey fidgeted as the dragon shook her head no. In fact, it looked more like she was trying to tell him something. 'Oh, I can't speak to him! So how can I show him that I'm cursed? Maybe—' Olivia grabbed the amulet with her front paws as she then pointed to Mickey. When she saw that Mickey was still puzzled, she gently pulled his hand along with the wand towards the gem. The gem glowed as the wand tapped it as Olivia stared in anticipation. Suddenly the wand fizzed and smoke came from it scaring both parties. Olivia sighed dejectedly realizing that this was a strong curse and beginner's magic just wasn't going to cut it. 'What am I to do?' She turned away from the mouse feeling hopeless. Mickey sensed the dragon's sadness and suddenly felt compelled to help her more than ever. But how? 'Oh! I know!' He skimmed through his spell-book until he found what he was looking for. Mickey then gently tapped the dragon's side. Olivia turned to glance at a specific page in Mickey's spell book. "Um, I might not know what's g-going on with you, but I do know that the giant crystal located in this temple might be able to help you. A-and I don't mind helping you locate it M-Miss —um dragon." 'He-He going to help me!' Olivia showed her gratitude by giving the mouse a gentle nuzzle. "Ha ha ha, You're welcome! Aw gee, you're just a little sweetheart aren't ya dra- uh --Hmm I can't just call you dragon! It's just not right! So uh if ya don't mind me asking, what is your name?" He saw the dragon write something in the dirt. "O-Li-Vi-A. Olivia? That a beautiful name! Nice to meet you Olivia!" Olivia bowed down encouraging Mickey to get on her back. Olivia then began to flap her wings, signaling to Mickey that they about to take off. Mickey hugged her back as they took to the skies. "By the way, my name is Mickey!" He heard the dragon purr, taking that as a friendly 'nice to meet you too'.
~Meanwhile~
The duo were unaware that they were being watched from the very crystal Mickey spoke of. 'Ah. So Olivia has found someone to help her. Interesting....'Minerva watched them intently with a red glint as she remembered why she cast the spell in the first place. The image in the crystal then rippled, revealing an image of a lone knight in the forest inspecting a torn cloth belonging to his beloved. Austin continued on his hunt for the dragon hopeful to avenge his beloved. Minvera smirked evilly at the restlessness of the driven knight. 'Oh foolish knight, We'll see if you still feel the same way once you find your beloved.' She could hardly wait to see the look on his face.
