I know in order to grow you must change.
But I want the growth without the pain or experiences. It's not right, but it's how I feel.
.....
You are calling us Christians to go out into the world.
I guess we should listen because we are called to. Even if we doubt ourselves and feel that we are unequipped or unprepared we should still go out into the world. It is scary, because we are risking ourselves. We are risking being attacked.
We are going out into the world where we are going to be mocked, hated, and criticized. I think one reason it is intimidating is because we feel like we have to do it all by ourselves.
We rely on ourselves more often than when we rely on the Holy Spirit to be a helper and a guide to us.
We become overwhelmed with the task because we aren't reliant on Your strength, Lord.
Forgive me for this, Father.
It is a message that I hear a lot from society, and I believe that it has polluted my mind.
The message that this world tells us that we want to hear is that we are strong enough by ourselves.
Why do they think that?
Because man wants to change himself and glorify himself.
Man wants to be his own SAVIOR.
Man wants to carry his own self out of the Darkness.
Man wants to credit himself for the success and good things in his life. These things - he thinks he did.
Really it was the blessing and providence of God.
But man does not acknowledge God.
Man acknowledges himself.
Satan, just like Man, wanted to be his own God.
He wanted to be greater than God.
Then God cast him out of Heaven.
I find myself trying to carry my own life on my own shoulders.
I often forget who's will I ultimately live for.
Not my will, Lord, but Your will be done.
Sometimes, when I look back at my life, I see that a lot of the impossible things that happened to me were a result of some supernatural intervention. A greater force was at work in my life and I didn't even notice it. I will now say that I would never give myself credit for the things that happened.
