Since the purpose of Hell's creation had been to punish Lucifer and mortals for their sins against God, it was impossible for plants to survive the underworld's constant storms of fire and brimstone. Nonetheless, Lucifer's daughter Charlie was determined to add a relaxing outlet to the Happy Hotel even when most of the residents would rather participate in more devious activities than sit around in a garden. That, dear reader, is where you come in.

Upon your arrival to this afterlife of damnation, you had taken an apprenticeship at an apothecary (one that sold underground drugs and poisons of course) till its owner had been whacked through the annual extermination, courtesy of the angels. Jobless and on the verge of losing your home, desperate times called for desperate measures, thus leading to sitting in Charlie's office for an interview to be a groundskeeper. The blonde-haired princess was surprised at your medicinal knowledge as well as mentioning that there 'were' some flowers to nurture in Hell, just difficult to maintain and find.

But by explaining your qualifications and so forth, it was actually written on a separate piece of paper stapled to your resume because you couldn't talk. Zilch.

And seeing as talking wouldn't be that prominent in your task, Charlie wasn't necessarily bothered at all by the simple fact of it all. She said it "added to your uniqueness", which was something she wanted at her hotel; the establishment was set on rehabilitating demons to where they could, and hopefully, would be accepted into Heaven so as to cut down the overpopulation here in Hell. And if the princess' project was successful in doing it's proposed job, then anyone who doubted her would see that she was not to be messed with in achieving her goal.

So much to your surprise, she welcomed you as part of the staff and asked her begrudging manager Vaggie to find a uniform that suited your unique form since the lower half of your body, ironically, was a garter snake. Harmless on the surface certainly, but everyone likes to keep their secrets. In fact, secrets had been your stock and trade once upon a time.

However, that was a tale for another time.

After familiarizing yourself with the hotel's layout and it's unique premise, Vaggie showed you where Charlie wanted her garden to be located, set up a budget, then left to do your job. Thankfully, you already had an idea of what to do. Swishing your scaly tail from left to right, you immediately began sending text messages to old connections.

A week later, the Happy Hotel had a garden with a few benchs for its residents. Charlie was impressed, even moreso when her curious gaze fell upon the roses you selected. They were definitely peculiar; when their petals unfurled, a single sky-blue orb was revealed, looking at the passerby before it closed several minutes later.

"What a strange one," she stated, looking over at you before looking at the flower as she bent down. "Where did you find it? It doesn't seem like it would be common anywhere around here." Jumping ever so slightly at the random buzz in her pocket, Charlie pulled out her phone and read the text message she had received from you.

Just...some old connections of mine were able to get me a few of them. They are indeed a rare species of roses, but none the less beautiful as their human world counterpart.

The princess nodded her head and looked at you with a bright smile, causing you to smile back - even if your smile was small and wasn't as bright as hers in comparison.

"Thank you, [Name], for helping me out. This garden wouldn't have been able to be here had it not been for your help. If you need any help, just ask. I'm sure I can do whatever I can to repay you for giving me such a stunning garden at my hotel."

"Oh, what these are pretty flowers!"

Charlie nearly jumped out of her three—piece suit at the perky voice that echoed right next to her ear. When she turned around, there stood Niffty in her glorious, curious 1950s poodle skirt. The tiny red-haired girl blinked a single eye at the roses before she turned excitedly at Charlie. "Can we pick some of these for the room, it would look so weird but really unique for our guests and I love them-!"

Just when the demon was about to pluck the one within arms' reach, she was immediately pulled back by a frantic looking groundskeeper's tail, coiling around her body. Niffty blinked once, then twice before she looked up at you, who at the moment is frantically texting on her cell phone.

"Hi, I haven't seen you around here before! My name is Niffty and I work in room service -" She was cut when Charlie's phone went off, followed by a brightly lit screen with words almost shoved in her face.

Please don't do that! I understand they are beautiful and would compliment the hotel's appearance somehow, but the roses' sap is acidic, even the smallest drop can cause some serious damage!

To provide further evidence on the flower's lethal trait you pulled off a glove and showed both women the burns on your right hand. A foolish mistake you made during the first month at the apothecary.
