(In this story, just so there is no pedophilia, you are a mom trying to get back your daughter's 7 notebooks.)

Your POV

"Where could Mr. Holden have hidden them?" I questioned, looking around the halls and in classrooms. I walked through the yellow doors towards where I came from when I saw my daughter's teacher, Mr. Basic, walk in with a bunch of files in his hands.

"Oh, hi, Ms. (L/N)! Welcome to my schoolhouse! What is it you need?" He smiled.

"I'm just here to collect my daughter's notebooks..."

"Oh! I can help with that as soon as I drop this all off." He walked off into a different room and came back a minute later. "Alright, with this school, each time you enter a classroom, you have to answer three trivial questions!"

I groaned a bit. I wasn't really the smartest kid in my classes. Especially not math (Sowwy math lovers!). English, however, is a really good subject for me. (If your native language isn't English, then I'm sorry).

Baldi chuckled "They aren't that bad of questions! Here," He guided me to a classroom, and he picked up a weird green tablet. "This one is about English! What is the proper way to spell 'math'?"

"That's easy. M-A-T-H"

"Very good! How do you spell 'subject'?"

"S-U-B-J-E-C-T?"

"You're doing fantastic! Finally, how do you spell 'next'?"

"N-E-X-T."

"Nice job, Ms-"

"You can call me (Y/N), Mr. Basic."

"Oh, okay! You did great! We can move on to the next classroom when you are ready!" He politely waited by the doorway of the classroom.

Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a notebook with a kitten on it. I walked over to it, and sure enough, it had my child's name written on it. I kept the notebook and walked over to the doorway, nodding at Baldi. He smiled and walked over to the classroom next door.

"Now it's time for everyone's favorite subject! Math!" He picked up that same green tablet and handed it to me, leaning over me like he was a mentor. "Now, what is 5+6?"

I hesitated while I did the math in my head.

"11?" (Holy crap I almost said 12 xD)

"Mhm! Next one, 3-2!"

"1, right?"

"Very good! Finally, what is 45 times 39?"

I stiffened. How was I supposed to know this? How were 1st graders supposed to know this? I knew Mr. Basic was growing a bit impatient. "If you need help, you can just ask."

I turned to him, "Yeah, I have a question..."
"What is that question?"
"What is the answer?"

Baldi stayed silent for a moment. "You know what, here." He handed me a calculator. "I don't usually do this, but I figure that you really need the help. Plus, I really don't want to get out... Well, just use the calculator." He smiled again.

"Get out what?"

His smile once again faded as he sighed and sat down in a chair next to me. "It's a standard punishment to... Give kids discipline with a ruler. Usually on the wrists. I honestly don't like it, but Mr. Holden makes us use it. It brings me bad memories from my day, but..." I saw a tear come to his eye as he wiped it away quickly.

I got up and walked around the desk I was in, giving him a soft hug. I felt him freeze a bit, but thenput his hand on my arm, probably for comfort. "Thanks, (Y/N)."

"You're welcome, Mr. Basic-"

"Just call me Baldi."

I smiles a bit and held him closer. "I remember those days... when teachers would smack us with rulers. I didn't learn a thing from that..."

That's when Baldi started to sniffle a bit. "Oh, I-I'm sorry if I bothered you..."

"You're fine, (Y/N)..."

"...Could you tell me what's on your mind?"

"..." Baldi stayed silent for a moment, "I never had the best experience with teachers." He pulled up his sleeve to reveal a myriad of scars, oddly looking like rulers. "I got in trouble a lot, and... they always hit too hard."

My eyes widened a little at the scars. "I never knew they could hit that hard... I'm so sorry that-"

"You're fine. It isn't your fault."

I hugged him once more. "To make you feel better, after I get all of my daughter's notebooks... Do you want to go out to lunch with me tomorrow?"

I saw Baldi smile so cutely, you would have thought he was a child who just got a puppy!

"You sure, (Y/N)?"

"Sure as hell." I gave a bit of a wink before walking off and out of the classroom.

"(Y/N), you didn't answer the last math question!"

"Here, I have your answer," I pulled him into an embrace and gave him a kiss. I felt his face get as hot as a furnace as he melted into it.

Guess I'll have to wait until lunch to see him again~
