Meeting the parents

Author's note: Thanks to everyone who has actually been reading this. This was meant to be a continuation of the last one (and was written at the same time), but I couldn't find a way to connect the two clearly.

Joey pulls up to the restaurant and tells Lauren he is going to park and he'll be right in. She nods, gets out of the car, and asks for a table for two. Joey arrived and quickly spots Lauren . He goes to their table and sits down.

"So, what are you getting?" He asks her.

"Not sure yet" she responds without looking up.

"We could share something?"

"Hell no. I need my food"

"Okay" he responded laughing. The waitress arrives and they order their food.

"So, um, I planned for us to go to my parents for the weekend." He tells her.

" What?!" She nearly shouts.

"It's just my parents, you've met them before."

The food arrives and Joey stops talking. They ate silently until Lauren shouted "holy shit joey!" He looks startled. " this is delicious!"

"Oh. Yeah! I know right?!" He pauses. "We don't have to go see my parents. We could just hang out at my house, Darren and Mia will be there..." He adds.

"As long as you feed me I'll be happy. And your mom's cooking is freaking awesome." She gets quiet" I've only met them as your friend, now I'm your girlfriend." She says shyly.

"Oh so, you are my girlfriend, good to know" he teases. "In all seriousness, you'll be fine. They love you and they know we're together. "

"Okay. You have to meet my parents when we go back to Chicago for Judas. Now that you are my boyfriend."

They finish their meal and pay. As they head back to Joey's house he texts Darren to let him know he has Lauren and they're heading back. Darren replies and says he has a few more scenes to film, then he'll be home.
