It's been a week ever since YuYan withdrew from the play.

Throughout that week, she would just watch the rehearsals from afar.

She didn't want to deal with her father anymore, so she easily gave in. It was unlike her, but one can fight the wind for too long.

Knowing she had no power over the play frustrated her but at least she knew her work was in good hands.

When she stepped down from being the director, Zeren took it over for her with an open mind.

YuYan trusted him. He had an orderly taste, so he could get this done perfectly without YuYan interfering.

Speaking of Zeren, the two spent much more time with each other throughout the week. Zeren started hanging out with her during break time and sometimes after school. They talked a lot and joked around with each other.

YuYan got to see Zeren's real personality, and not the persona he displayed in school.

She felt comfortable around him and somewhere along the way, she told him about her family and the things she struggles with.

She told him all about the agreement with the Fan family and how she accidentally let herself fall for Fan ChengCheng.

Zeren listened through it all, understanding more about his seat mate. He tried to help YuYan forget about him as much as possible. To make that happen, Zeren had to open up more to her.

It was hard for him, but Zeren pushed himself to do it.

I don't want him to be the one on your mind all day. I want you to focus on me and me only.

He didn't understand where all those feelings came from, but he accepted them warmly. For the first time in four years, Zeren felt purposeful.

He didn't suffer from depression, but he was just bored.

Tired of things around him.

The void his sister left in his heart with her death seemed to sallow him up like a black hole.

Who knew his annoying seat mate would help rescue him from that void?

There are things that can't be undone or ignored, but there will always be something else to help you get through that pain. Zeren was waiting for that moment.

He couldn't wait for a rescue boat to save him.

He couldn't wait to share his flowers with someone.

But Zeren's tiny efforts went unnoticed by YuYan.

Yes, they might've gotten closer but ChengCheng was still on YuYan's mind.

She had forged strong walls around her heart but ChengCheng managed to slip between them easily. As much as she wanted to move on, something made her stay.

Maybe it was because she still believed that everything will get fixed again.

Hanging on that thin strand of hope added more to her stress, making her lose more of her appetite and making her eat less.

She felt very dizzy at times but luckily, Dinghao was always there to force her to eat.

Sometimes, she would survive on her school lunch only. But that was for weekdays only.

On weekends like these of now, YuYan couldn't bring any food into her system.

She would only feel like having a useless piece of candy or junk food occasionally.

Doing this lowered her blood sugar levels a lot.

Her body might be able to tolerate her actions for a while, but it won't take long before it gives up.
