(SONG :Girl Crush by little big town)
As the sun set behind the waves, I made my way to shore. The sand tickled my toes and the wind blew at my salty hair making a smile spread on my face. My wet suit clung to me like a second skin as I carried my surfboard to the backseat of my Jeep.
I like surfing for it is the only thing that keeps me occupied and entertained during summer. I would get a job but I seriously don't like the idea of being bossed around and underpaid for months let alone the thought of having to speak to mundanes made me sick to the stomach.
Once I have my seat belt on, I turn on the radio as loud as it gets and open all the windows while driving aimlessly. My gramps taught me to drive back when I was 16 years old. I remember him insisting on buying me my current car so that I could enjoy being young and free as he said.
My grandpa James is the only family I have or at least the only family I know of. He is the greatest cook ever hands down, you haven't lived until you try his signature broccoli mushroom soup. As long as I remember he has always supported me and made me feel loved. He even set me up with my current girlfriend Cami when I came out bisexual last summer on my seventeenth birthday. How he did it was by sending Cam to pick me up after claiming he was too tired to do it himself. We ended up making out in the backseat of her car and we've been together ever since.
'You' by the 1975 started playing and I couldn't help but feel euphoria crawling through my veins. As I arrive to my favorite yogurt shop next to the beach, I notice a new tattoo shop opening next door which instantly makes me want to get one. So I text Cam about it knowing she'd be as excited as me once she finds out.
Grabbing the biggest cup, I start mixing different yogurt flavors at once making a rainbow of heavenly tastes. Adding sprinkles and strawberries, I notice someone sitting outside the tattoo shop looking through what seemed to me like a vintage camera. With everything going on next to him meaning the colorful sky and calm waves the man looked oddly familiar and extremely paintable .
Turning my attention away from the stranger, I pick up my yogurt cup from the small round table in the corner of the shop and make my way back to the car and drive home.
Gramps greats me as always with a huge bear hug and cheek kisses that I've grown very fond off over the years. Our home is very vintage due to my obsession with old furniture. I wish I had been born in the early s70's I would've fitted just perfectly . Walking up the spiral steel stair case I skip to my room.
I'm greeted by my large collection of vinyl records which seemed very inviting so I took my favorite album at the moment and carefully placed it on my wooden record. Shortly after, the mesmerizing sound flowed in my space making me sway my hips involuntarily. I close my eyes and point my toes letting the music take over my senses completely. I've been dancing since I was 7 years old making me somewhat professional. As 'Sweet Creature' comes to an end and 'Carolina' starts playing , I make my way to the bathroom. I get undressed and stand completely naked in front of my mirror.
My long tangled waves cascaded over my shoulders. My green eyes wandered over every inch inspecting my exposed skin for any imperfections . Stretch marks make their way on the outside of my curvy hips making me feel empowered and very content that my body is maturing and changing into a beautifully flawed masterpiece. Yes, I love my body. Sue me.
After a long shower, I check my phone which showed that it was now 11pm meaning It was time for me to get into bed and bury my head into a book.
Picking up 'Call me by your Name' I make my way to my white bedding and cuddle with my sheets tightly even though it's practically hot as hell I can't seem to be able to sleep without being completely covered up. I'm so weird, what the hell.
I get really tired after ten chapters and fall into comfortable oblivion.
