Chapter 11 : Unanswered

As soon as I heard Amelia's scared voice I rushed to meet her. Surely, it couldn't be something serious?

I called Ryan and we both, practically, ran to find a very panicked Amelia.

"Are you alright? Did she not turn up yet?" I asked.

"No, I tried calling her many times but her phone is switched off."

"Do you know where she lives?"

She scrunches her face in concentration,"I might have an idea where she lives but I'm not really sure"

"How could you not know , detour damn best friend!" I shout, in frustration. I close my eyes and run a hand through my hair.

When I looked back at Amelia, tears were pooling in her eyes while she kept her gaze down at the stony , cobbled path.

Ryan stepped in front of me.

"Hey chill, we'll find her but not if we're gonna be hasty about it. Let's just all calm down and think with a clear head."

I took a deep breath.

"Amelia, where do you think she lives?"

Still keeping her gaze down she said, " All I know is that Raven takes two buses to come to school and once she mentioned her first bus to be in Kiltifern Village."

Ryan said " Kiltifern is a small Village and now that we know where she takes her first bus , we just need to know where her house is situated."

"Her house could either be situated inside the village or near it." I included.

Amelia finally looked up with wide eyes "She once briefly told me her house is near a forest."

I jumped at this. "Great, at least now we have a lead!"

Ryan took out his phone and started engaging with it.

"Ryan what are you doing? Raven could be kidnapped or worse and you're on your phone. You know really well that criminal activity is quite high in this area!!!" I almost screamed.....almost.

He managed to roll his eyes without actually looking at me directly. Theo, dude, I'm searching the map of Kiltifern Village to see if there is a forest in it, just to make sure."

"Oh...um...yeah sure, whatever." I coughed, quite embarrassed about the outburst.

"Here" he said showing us the map,
There was only one forest which happened to be within twenty-five miles to the one and only bus stop in the village.

"It's a small forest so we'll be able to search the outskirts of it and see if there is any house nearby." said Ryan.

Suddenly Amelia spoke which took me by surprise. I almost forgot she was even there.

"Well, what are we waiting for! Raven could be in serious trouble. We need to start searching for her!"

A thought occurred to me.

"How will we get there? I mean, let's be realistic, none of us can drive yet and we can't afford to waste time by waiting for the next bus which will most likely not arrive for the next two hours."

We all thought long and hard.

Ryan suddenly started beaming, "I think I have an idea!"
We went through the plan which was ingenious.

"Bro, I am lucky to have a friend like you" I said, clapping him on the back.

All I could do for now was hope Amelia is mistaken and Raven is safe.
