Hannatu pov

I looked over myself in the mirror sighing, i was already dressed in a long white flay gown with flower embroidery on the sleeve and a steel blue veil which matched said flower pattern. I was on my way to the 'so called' blind date my mom arranged for me, I just wanted to get my work done without getting disturbed or meeting new people. thinking about it made me depressed so I tried to forget about it at least for now.

Arriving at the restaurant I met a tall guy who barely looked at me, he was on his phone when I arrived and my presence didn't change his mind. I ate and when I was done I turned to look at him but he was still on his phone, he barely touched his food.

"Why am I here?" i finally ask fed up

"Well we're just here to act like we had a decent conversation and get along well so we can get this wedding going and over with, personally I don't think we need to meet but my mom insisted." i scoff at his nasty behavior trying to control my tongue, he's a tool for sure.

"Wedding? I never said i was going to marry you so I have no idea what you're talking about. You know what? let's just pretend we didn't meet at all. I'd rather stay single than marry an idiot with no class or etiquette whatsoever." i stood up and stormed out of the restaurant before I cause more damage than I already have, such a long night.

*******

I closed the front door and was heading upstairs when my mother's voice stopped me, I turned to stare at her..

"What did you do? The guy I asked you to meet called complaining that you insulted him and stormed off." she looked furious, I get she'd hit me if she could.

"I disrespected him? The guy barely looked at me, and when he did he told me to get the wedding over with. I might have given you the power to choose who I date or marry, but I won't let you marry me off to someone who has no respect for me." i did not wait for her to reply because I was off to my room before she could.

Coming out of the shower My phone started ringing, and it was Salima, That girl really irritates me sometimes and today was one of those days.

"What?" i answer the phone cold and angry

"I-I called regarding the marketing director you asked me to find, I recruited someone and asked him to come in tomorrow morning in order for you to vet him." she stammered with a low voice

"Well at least you're doing something right, push my schedule down to 12. Also send his resume to me through my email, oh and don't forget to send that contract to Mr Jalil I need his signature on it." i ended the call with a long sigh, I'm exhausted and worn out. Without me knowing I slept off....

.......

Waking up to an alarm is the most annoying thing in the world, you're not sure weather to throw the alarm or cuss your existence.

I reluctantly got out of bed and got ready for work, I don't usually eat break fast so by 8:00am I was already sitting at my desk arranging my table.

Sipping my cherry blossom tea my eyes were fixated on the TV that was hanging on the wall, I scoff at the ridiculous outfit the anchor was wearing. I don't get people and their crazy form of dressing they call fashion these days, i was ranting to myself when my door was opened startling me.

"Good morning, the man I told you about is standing outside. Should I let him in?" she looked like hadn't slept in days so I refrained from nagging at her for entering my office without knocking. I waved my hand to dismiss her and got back to watching TV, I heard the door open and close but i didn't care to check who it was. Whoever it is can wait until I'm done, my company, my rules.

After a while I finally decide to turn my attention to my new guest, and immediately I turned around my breath caught up in my throat.

It wasn't because the guy is good looking (which he is), it was because for the first time in my life someone was actually looking at me directly in the eye. My eyes are an odd color for a Nigerian, it's grayish greenish, I have what you call Ocular albinism. I inherited it from my grandmother, fortunately my dad and sisters didn't have that problem. I on the other hand is a different story, and thanks to that People refrained from looking at me in the eyes.

Not this guy though, his dark mysterious eyes, light stubble, defined nose and fascinating lips Made him look intimidating. Believe me when I tell you I was having it difficult looking at him In the eyes, his aura was just another thing on its own.

I got myself together before looking over his resume, it was impressive. He looked capable and trust worthy, though not once did his eyes stray away form me. It was like he was staring into my soul, and it was getting so uncomfortable I was starting to squirm in my seat.

"Is there a problem Mr?" i finally manage to ask

"Nasir Ibrahim, and no I'm just waiting for you to finish observing." i nod slowly before looking back at him

"So far everything looks good, and as you were told you'll be starting today. Your office Is opposite mine, make sure you report to me when you're done settling in because I have something I need you to work on." I kept it professional and as clear as I can

He answered with a "yes ma'am" before exiting my office.

I let out the breath I've been holding for a while, my heart was beating 10x faster than usual. My mind was a mess, my stomach was Turning and i felt a bit nauseous. I manage to drink a cup of chilled water, I feel myself relax finally able to think properly.

'I don't know who this guy is, but I Have a feeling things are about to get interesting' i thought with a smirk on my face.
