This is going to be the last chapter for a while unfortunately. I'm going on a trip where I'm going to be unable to post for at least a week or more. Other than that I hope you guys enjoy the story :)
The next morning I woke up feeling fully rested. I quickly got changed into a simple red and black ninja outfit.
I made my way to the kitchen and found Kakashi was reading a book called Icha Icha Paradise. I shrugged. I didn't take him for the bookworm type.
I was thankful he didn't bring anything up from last night and it was clear that my vampire side was going to need to be controlled more firmly.
I still refused to accept Kakashi as my soulmate. I didn't like the fact of having someone that close to me. And I knew exactly the right person to choose to get over this soulmate bond.
I grinned and headed out the door. I would need to catch up with her before she got to the training grounds.
I started running after I spotted her and smiled. She was the perfect candidate. She stopped and waited for me to catch up.
"You're up early," Sakura remarked.
"Yeah I decided that there must be some truth to the early bird gets the worm," I replied. I leaned in close to her.
"What do you think?" I whispered. Her face flushed in embarrassment. I winked at her and continued on my way to the training grounds.
It seemed my plan was going well. I pushed the silly thoughts away to focus on more important things. Training. I knew my taijutsu skills were good, but I couldn't help but feel useless in genjutsu and ninjutsu.
I could barely manage a clone jutsu or even control my chakra. I was basically a joke of a ninja especially considering I was 3 years behind everyone else.
I shook my head. I can't think negatively that won't help me succeed at all. I'd just need to ask the Hokage if he had any spare Chunin or Jonin that could help train me.
Naruto and Sasuke arrived shortly after. Sakura wasn't fangirling over Sasuke as much as before. She kept sneaking glances at me and I smirked.
It seemed Sasuke noticed the lack of attention and he looked relieved. Naruto didn't catch on at all.
"Hey Sakura, I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go get some ramen with me after training?" Naruto looked hopefully at Sakura. She sighed.
"Naruto, I'm not interested." She went back to daydreaming and Naruto dejectedly walked away.
Kakashi arrived an hour late. That was pretty early for him.
"I hope you guys are ready for a mission." Kakashi gave us a closed eye smile and the rest of us grinned. Our days as ninja were just beginning.
-time skip to Hokage's office-
"I thought we were going to be doing real ninja missions! I want to do real ninja work," Naruto shouted.
"Naruto those missions are just as important as any other mission," Kakashi sighed. The Hokage chuckled.
"It's ok Kakashi, I'll give you a c-rank mission," the Hokage replied. I smiled. I was ready to advance as a ninja.
"You will all be guarding a bridge builder named Tazuna back to the Land of Waves." We heard a crash and an old drunken man hobbled his way into the Hokage's office.
"I'm getting guarded by a bunch of snot nosed brats?!" The old man cried out in disbelief. "The short one doesn't even look like a ninja."
"Who's the short one?" Naruto looked between us. "Oh you! I'm going to be Hokage one day believe it!"
