Since Kimihito and the others were out for a while now, I decided to go looking for them. Kio and Kay came with me. I started walking around the streets for any sign of them. Soon, I found something peculiar on the ground. One of Papi's feathers, blue and rather small. Must be going the right way. I saw another one falling gently from the sky and grabbed hold of it.

-"Hey girls, are you able to track scents?" I asked.

-"Not me, but Kay can." Kio said.

-"Kay, can you track Papi?" I asked, holding out the feather.

-"Sure!" Kay said.

She got closer and sniffed the feathers a few times before perking her ears up.

-"Got it! This way, master!" Kay said, running off.

-"Kay! Slow down!" I said, running to catch up.

Kio was running beside me, seeming to not break a sweat. I find it curious how Kay can track and Kio cannot. Why is that? Is it just because they're different breeds of Neko? Whatever it is, it's impressive!

-"Are we almost there Kay?" I asked, still running.

-"Yes master! She's not too far now!" Kay said.

Finally she turned a corner and we saw a bridge ahead of us. I saw the group ahead and slowed down to a walk. They seemed to be okay, Suu and Papi were with them. I got closer until I was within listening distance. Kio and Kay stayed with me.

-"Master? Why don't we go check up on them?" Kay asked.

-"They're fine." I said with a smile. "I don't think I need to interfere."

-"Very well, but I'm still going to say hi." Kio said.

-"Me too!" Kay said.

They both walked off and I thought that I might as well go. I started walking closer until I saw a little girl dropped her hat and was chasing it. She ran out into the street! I looked behind her to see a pickup truck going right for her! The driver seemed to be in a panic, as I was. He swerved but the truck wasn't going to dodge her. I was too far to save her...

...

The impact left blobs...of slime...in the air. Miraculously, Suu had absorbed the entire force of the impact! I sighed in relief as the Nekos went up to praise Suu and make sure the child was okay. The child was crying in fear. She was okay, just scared. I knelt next to Suu still stuck to the wall and smiled.

-"Nice move Suu, you're a hero." I said.

Suu didn't respond but gave me a happy smile. I patted her head and stood to face Kimihito.

-"That was a close one." Kimihito said, relieved.

-"Yeah, tell me about it." I said.

We exchanged idle chat for around 30 seconds before Papi sounded concerned about something. I turned to face her and saw that she was looking at Suu who was still stuck in the bridge wall. She's still stuck? I thought she could just meld off.

-"Suu? You can't get off? Why not?" Papi asked.

Strange for sure, but she's got bigger problems. Thanks to the crash from the truck, the bridge wall started crumbling! We had little time so I tried to pull the edges of her body off the wall. It was no use, she wasn't coming off! Very abruptly, a crack formed on the road and sent all but one back, Papi. She was reaching over the edge and holding Suu! Wait, if Suu's a slime, she'd dissolve in the river!

-"You're slipping! I can't hold on!" Papi said in a panic.

Without thinking, I jumped over to Papi's side and tried to pull Papi up but it was in vain.
