today wasn't the best day of my life.it was like any other day— got called a fag face multiple times, my diy table at the back of the class that the teacher made had broken again, and garrett and i got in trouble with the discipline mistress when we were caught making out in a classroom.

school ended and garrett and i wanted to go back to his house to have some fun;) but i had to go to the bookstore to get a book for my mom so we decided to meet up tomorrow. i was on the way to  the bookstore downtown, as i saw one of my best friends walk right out of the store.

"trinity!!" i screamed, opening up my arms to hug her. her jaw dropped open as she ran towards me and cane straight at me. she buried her face in my neck and hugged me tightly. i hadn't seen her ever since she moved to colorado. i missed her so much. and did i mention i had a crush on her ever since i met her? but i haven't been able to tell her.

"what are you doing here?" i asked, after the hug.

"so basically back in colorado, i heard this myth that if you leave your phone number in a note in a random book, your soulmate will find it and text you," she said, excitedly.

i laughed, ending the conversation and waving to her as we parted ways. i walked towards the bookstore and opened the doors, taking in the smell of air conditioning. i walked towards the fiction section and looked for romance books— those were my mom's favourite.

i found this book titled " the stars". it looked absolutelty beautiful and the storyline was so interesting. it was your average romance novel, but not really, a boy likes another boy but he hasn't come out of the closet yet and the other boy is straight. kinda interesting. i flipped to page 72. on the left side of the page, i saw it.
a star shaped post-it. it was blue and had a few numbers scribbled on it. 123 456 789. my heart beat faster and faster and started pounding on my rib cage like a monster waiting to be set free. why was i getting so excited? was it who i thought it was?

i quickly bought the book and brought it home. i instantly dialed the number into my phone and added it to my contacts. a smile was plastered across my face and i couldn't hold in my excitement. i quickly messaged the number.
