2 weeks.
i didn't see your face for 2 weeks.
you didn't come to school. you didn't call or text. we had no communication at all.
i missed you like crazy. images of your smile replayed in my mind like a broken record. you were all i could think about.
i was desperate to talk to you again. i would have done anything. so, i did just that.
that night, i drove to your house and parked my car across the street. i snuck through your front yard until i reached the window with the light open. i know it's cheesy, but i threw rocks at your window until you opened it.
you looked around, your red hair swaying around your face. it only took a moment for your blue eyes to meet mine. your mouth fell open in shock.
"what are you doing?" you whisper-yelled, glancing behind you and then back at me.
"i missed you." i said. your eyes softened slightly and i knew it was only seconds until you would give in. "i missed you and i couldn't wait any longer to see you."
you sighed, resting your hands on the windowsill. "well, what do you want me to do? you can't climb up here."
"challenge accepted." i said, a smile breaking its way across my face. i climbed up the side of your house as quickly and carefully as i could. you pulled me inside your room and we fell over onto your bed.
our faces were inches apart. your bright blue eyes widened and your face began to turn red. i could count the freckles on your cheeks. i wanted to kiss you.
instead, i traced your features. the slight curve of your jaw. the arch of your eyebrow. your full, pink lips.
i could tell that you had become uncomfortable with me staring at you for so long, so i pulled you into a hug.
we stayed like this for the rest of the night, neither of us having the courage to pull away.
i think this was the night i realized i loved you.
