A/N Taryn and Tanith are based off of my friends. My suggestion: Follow them! Northern_Downpour1 and Recyletherainbow123! I'm not sure how I'm gonna make this chapter work, I wasn't planning on letting Jacob into the storyline like this just yet, but the last chapter kinda wrote itself, and I'm scrambling to adjust. I hope y'all enjoy! -Willow

Jack was quietly sneaking along just behind Sam. They were in a forest, it was dark out and they were trying their best not to be noticed. Jack still had Tanith's sword in his hand, ready to fight. The forest was dead silent.

After a mile or two, Tanith stood up. "It's safe now. We're far away from the theater." She looked back. "Let's get to the training facility." And she set off.

"Now hang on!" Jack said. "You said you'd explain this!"

Sam sighed. "How much do you know about your family history? Both of you."

Lydia looked at Sam. "I have a small idea about being spies in World War Two...?"

Sam looked at Jack. "How about you?"

"Just that I come from a long line of soldiers. Long way back, we bested samurai in battles. That's really all I know." Jack said.

"Well, the reason they were such good warriors was because they weren't entirely human." Sam said. "They had skills and strengths beyond natural human capabilities. And so do all of us. Jack, when you sliced the hadrich in half, no human can do that, not even the strongest bodybuilder. Even some of us can't. The height you jumped, running up that wall, instinctual skill, those are other advantages. You're also faster and have far quicker reflexes than normal humans. Some of us can dodge or even catch bullets."

"If we're not human, then what are we?" Jack asked, bewildered.

"You're still partially human, Jack. But about nine-tenths of you is Fae. A warrior for the Powers. The hadrich are examples of servants of the Dark Fae. They serve the Darkness. We, the Light Fae, serve the balance for the worlds. We hold back the Darkness as Warriors of the Light. It's an eternal War. The original War. Good and evil. Even pure humans know about it. God and Satan, Sun and Moon, the good and the bad. We are seen as The Sun. Bringing life and happiness. Whereas they are The Moon. Forcing Death and slavery. Jack, Lydia has Light Fae. She won't ever be Dark. She's the standing Princess of Light now. You, though... Jack, your family has a history of being both Dark and Light. You come from the First Fae. You have balance. A Light side... and a Dark side. The Dark will try to pull you, but you must choose on your own. Jack. You are important. Those creatures were coming for both of you. Lydia as a Princess of the Light. Jack, as the most powerful Fae there is."

Jack stared at her. That was a lot of information to process. So he was stronger... than everything?

"Sam, we should keep moving." Tanith said. "The hadrich are lilely still following us."

Taryn nodded. "Tanith's right. We need to go. Now."

Lydia stood behind Jack, hiding. "Let's get somewhere safe."

Jack turned around and looked at her. "Lydia, I won't let anything happen to you, ok?" She blushed and looked down. At this point in the march, they were at train tracks. "Wait, Sam, Taryn, Tanith. I have something to say." He turned back to Lydia. "Lydia, I've waited a long time to say this. And considering the events of today, we may die. So now I want to say it. Before I never get the chance again. Lydia, I think I love you. I really do. I don't know if you feel the same, but-"

A screech sounded from above. On instinct, Jack stepped back, snatched Taryns gun from her holster and shot down the black, misshapen bird.

"A scout! Go! Jack, this can wait. We need to get to safety! Now!" Sam said. The group sprinted along.

From the woods, a voice sounded.

"That's so sweet. Jack, the ladies' man. Hahaha, I want to throw up. Love is for the weak. Jack, join us. Help us change the world. Don't you want to be Master of the World?"

"Not really!" Jack called back. "Who are you? Show yourself!"

"Oh, surely you're joking! I'm Jacob. A Dark Fae. Come, join us!"

"I said no. I'm staying with Lydia."

"You have chosen poorly. Perhaps you'll change your mind soon." An arrow shot out of the forest, narrowly missing Lydia. Jack pushed her down amd covered her with his body.

"Face me like a man, coward!" he called. A laugh sounded.

"Very well." A tall, black clothed man walked out of the woods. He had a heavy black axe in one hand and a sword in the other. His muscles rippled as he laughed again. "Rethinking this challenge, are we?"

"Not really!" Jack stood, stepped over to Sam and slipped her hand over hand sword out of its sheathe and turned to face Jacob.

Jacob grinned, amused. "Your Fae side has just awoken. You believe you can handle the Dark Knight who has been training his whole life? Please."

Jack allowed a look of determination fall over his face. "You won't hurt Lydia."

"Try and stop me." Jacob said, striding forward. Jack stepped into the way. Jacob casually swiped with his axe at Jack. Jack easily sidestepped it and slapped it out of Jacobs hand. Jacob snarled and turned and slashed at Jack. He stepped back, twisted under the slash and sliced a long gash into Jacobs stomach. Jacob paused. "Stronger than I thought. Impressive. I'll leave you be. For now. Think about it." He leapt into the air and disappeared. Jack picked Lydia up off of the train tracks and they moved on.
