Chapter 22: Don't Ever Stop Chasing Me

I finished packing my things in my duffel bag and stepped out of the R.V. Sasha was standing in the drive way sucking a lollipop.

“Where are you going?” she asked.

I ignored her and walked into the house. I didn’t have much time “Nathan!” I called.

“Yeah?” he walked around the corner and met me in the door way.

“I’m leaving” I stated.

“What? Where?” he asked.

“I have to go. I just need to be on my own” I stated.

He stared at me “you are not ready to go out on your own” he stated.

“This isn’t a discussion, this my decision”

“What about Mitch?”

“I’m leaving him behind”

“Chrystal, the boy loves you. Why can’t you just be happy with him? I know you love him too, don’t throw it away”

“I can’t have him throw away his life for me. Now I have to get going, I just came to say good bye” I said.

He sighed “well I see that you’ve already made up your mind. Listen, stay safe kid. Call me if you need anything or if you’re in trouble. Don’t forget to feed” he advised.

I nodded “I love you Nathan” I said and brought him into a hug.

“I love you too, sis” he said as we pulled away.

We stepped apart “one more thing” I said.

“Yeah?” he asked.

“Can vampires have kids?” I asked.

He shrugged “I don’t know” he said.

I nodded and picked my duffel bag off the floor “good bye” I said.

“Good bye” he said.

I walked out of the house. I walked away from my old life. I walked away from anyone who ever loved me.

I threw down my duffel bag beside the big metal trash can. The walls of the alley blocked out the moon light. I could hear the music coming from the club beside me through the walls.

I stripped down and through on that white tube dress that Nathan bought for me along with the heels. I through my old clothes back into the duffel bag.

It had been two days since I left Nathan and I already miss everyone so much. I try to not think about it too much.

I brushed away the thought and left my duffel bag out in the alley and walked to the line. I stood straight and walked up to the bouncer. I batted my eye lashes and he rolled his eyes but opened up the velvet rope. I sent him a smile as I walked through and into the club of dancing bodies.

I squeezed into the crowd and started dancing.

Soon enough I had hands on my hip with a dashing man in front of me. He had short black hair and brown eyes. He stood tall and wore a dashing smile.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed our bodies together as we swayed and rocked.

I saw a finger come out and tap the guy. He turned and I saw a tall hot guy with long black hair. He was covered with a simple plastic black mask.

The two men were having a conversation before the one I was dancing with brushed him away and went to wrap his arms around me but the man in the masks voice stopped him. I couldn’t tell what he said over the music but it convinced him to leave me.

The man in the mask stepped up and was assumed position as we rocked and swayed. Normally I would have pushed a guy in a mask far, far away but he sent calming guys and I loved the feel of his hands on me.

“You look beautiful tonight” he said in my ear. I loved his voice and I felt as if I had heard it before.

“Thank you” I mumbled.

We continued to dance for a while longer.

“Do you want to get out of here?” I said in his ear.

He nodded and grabbed my hand. Instead of going to the front he dragged me through the crowd to the back. He found the back door and pulled me through it.

His back hit the wall and pulled me with him. I loved being in his arms. I reached up and touched the mask. I paused waiting for him to stop me but when he didn't I pulled it off and gazed at Mitch.

“I told you, I would always chase you” he stated.

I let out a long breath. Maybe I should just give in, I don’t think he’ll give up and truthfully I don’t want him too. I’m willing to take the chance if he is “I love you Mitch” I stated.

He paused and just stared at me “I love you too Chrystal” he said and his mouth connected to mine without hesitation.

We pulled back and I grabbed my duffel bag off the floor. He wrapped his arm around me and we walked out of the alley.

“What now?” I asked.

“Let’s go back to Nathan’s for a while” he said.

I nodded “alright” I replied.

“No more running?” he asked.

I shook my head “no more running” I said.

He let out a sigh of content “I have finally caught you” he whispered.

"And I've caught you" I whispered.

I wrapped my arms around him. Whatever there is to come, we will handle it together.

That was the end. Thanks for reading.
