Bad Boys and Good Girls

Chapter 5 (Dani)

I woke up in my bed because Jackson and Zach were at each other's throats. Like usual. My head was pounding. I couldn't remember much last night after Austin left. The thought of him made me melt on the inside. Suddenly I heard the door slam. Emma. Then I heard Jackson scream. He was probably walking around in his boxers again. I don't know why he still freaks out about it, they've known each other forever and she's seen him like that multiple times.

"Sorry!" Emma scream as she ran up the stairs and barged into my room. "We need to talk."

I slowly sat up in my bed and crossed my legs. I heard the boys shuffling around out in the hallway. They probably wouldn't be able to hear us.

"I know! I feel horrible!" I buried my face into my pillow and moaned.

"Wait. Why do you feel bad?" I looked up. Emma looked confused.

"What were you talking about?" I said nervously trying to change the subject. I started to twirl my hair with my fingers.

"I know what you're doing Dani. You play with your hair when you're nervous. What's wrong?" She said sternly and narrowed her eyes.

I couldn't look her in the eyes. "I um...." I trailed off. The boys stopped shuffling in the hallway. I hoped they weren't listening. I can't hold it in any longer. "I SMOKED A CIGARETTE!" I blurted out. It felt like the world was lifted off my shoulders.

Emma was shocked. She held her hand over her mouth. "Oh my god. Really? But, you would never! You're to.... good."

"Ha-ha very funny." I said sarcastically. "So what did you want to talk about?"

"Oh... um... so Derek and I got drunk last night. Then we started making out." I nodded my head. This wasn't surprising. "He pulled me into a room once we sobered up and we well.... did.. it.." Her body stiffened.

"YOU WHAT?" My brothers screamed as they burst into my room. They scared me so bad that I nearly fell off the bed.

Emma held her hands up surrendering. "I'm sorry! It just happened!" I could  tell she felt awkward talking about this with me, never mind my brothers.

"We're going to kill Derek!" Jackson screamed. He ran his hands through his hair and started pacing.

Zach was leaned against the door frame and pulled out his phone. He angrily punch a few numbers into his phone and held it up to his ear. "WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING? DON'T PLAY DUMB WITH ME DEREK! YOU BANGED EMMA! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?" He screamed into the phone and walked out of the room.

I looked at Emma. Her face was white and her eyes were wide open. I put my hand on her shoulder. My phone started vibrating. I looked over and it was Austin calling. Emma was looking over my shoulder. She gave me an approving nod and I stood up and walked into my en-suit bathroom before answering.

"Hello?" I sat up on the counter.

"Hey babe." He said. I rolled my eyes.

"So.. Why are you calling? Sorry not to be mean and all but... why?"

"Did you hear about Emma and Derek?"

"Oh.. yeah.. my brothers heard too." The other line was silent for a moment. "Yeah they over heard us."

"Aw fuck!" he moaned. "well anyway. Wanna go get a bite to eat? We can go to a movie too if you want." I smiled.

"What. Like a date?" I teased.

"Totally." He responded. Short and sweet.

"Can we make it a double date?" I thought about how excited Emma would probably be to see Derek again.

"Yeah hold on." He put his phone down but I can hear him screaming on the other line. Derek! Wanna go on a date with Dani and me? Oh and you can bring Emma. "Yeah OK wanna meet at the mall at 3?"

"Yup see you there."

"Later babe." he said and hung up the phone. I slowly walked out of the bathroom. Jackson and Zach were not grilling Emma on what happened last night. She was cornered.

I grabbed both of their shoulders and pulled them away. "Well boys." I put my hands on my hips. "Thanks for the concern about us but you two need to leave. We need to change. We're going to the mall." I waved my hand at them shooing them out of my room. They mumbled something and slowly exited.

"Wait. We're going to the mall?" Emma said.

I smiled. "Yup it's a double date!" I winked at her. I walked to my closet.

Emma grabbed a pink plaid shirt, skinny jeans and her uggs. She went into the bathroom to change. While she was in there I pulled on a white tank top, white fluffy skirt and a jean jacket. The jacket was rolled up to my elbows and tucked into the skirt with a brown belt. I wore black flats. I twirled around in front of the mirror. I liked it. Emma walked out of the bathroom and we did our make-up. My hair was still wavy from last night so I kept it down. Emma's hair was straight after she took a shower. I grabbed a purse a put my phone in it.

We walked downstairs and Emma went outside to her car. I walked into the kitchen to talk to my brothers. Jackson was the first to notice me. He looked me up and down and narrowed his eyes. "What are you dressed up for?"

"I'm going to the mall with Emma." I shrugged. "Remember?"

"You look a little, too fancy for just the mall." Zach said from behind me.

"Come on. Where are you really going?" Jackson asked.

"Fine. I'm going to the mall to meet Austin." I told them.

They both groaned. "Come on! We heard that you smoked Dani. Cooper isn't good for you." Zach sighed. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"I'm fine! He's a total gentlemen." They both glared at me. "I'll be back around midnight. Don't wait up." I threw over my shoulder as I walked toward the door.

I jumped into Emma's car and sprayed myself with my body spray.
