Chapter 6 (Emma)

Once we walked into the food court, I noticed the boys standing in like for Burger King. Their backs were face us. I walked up to Derek and put, my hands over his eyes. "Guess who." I whispered into his ear, trying to be sexy. He quickly spun around.

"Hey sexy." He said kissing my lips and slipping his hands into my back pockets, squeezing my ass. I yelped and pulled his hands away.

I blushed and Dani winked at me. She walked up to Austin and he gave her a kiss. "So what movie are we going to see?" She asked as Austin laced his fingers with hers. I smiled as Derek's hand fell on to my lower back, and pulled me closer.

"Can I steal you for a minute alone before the movie?" Derek whispered in my ear. His breath was hot on my ear and sent a shiver down my spine. I nodded as he pulled me to the side and told Austin to go ahead.

"So... um what did you want to talk about?" I said and put my hand on my other arm.

"I was going to talk about.... um... last night..." he rubbed his neck and tilted his head so he was facing the ceiling. "So Dani's brother called me this morning and... um..--" I cut him off.

"I'm so sorry about him. Jackson and Zach are like my brothers too. They're so over protective of me and Dani that it's annoying sometimes." I rubbed my forehead in frustration.

"No I was fine with taking the blame. I'm willing to take the blame for anything if that means that you won't get hurt or in trouble." He put a hand on my face and brushed my cheek with his thumb. I could feel my knees getting week. His eyes were sparkling and he looked cute. "So I was wondering... if... um..." he stuttered as if he was unable to find his words.

"Yes?" I raised one eye brow, gesturing for him to continue.

"I was wondering if...... you would be my girlfriend. I really like you and.... after last night... I couldn't stop thinking about you."

I stared at him with wide eyes. I nodded, not trusting my voice. He smirked, but by the look in his eyes he was excited. He kissed me lightly on the lips, put his arm around me waist and we headed in the direction of the movie theater.

As we walked into Olive Garden, I noticed a table full of children with blond hair. "Oh shit." Dani and I mumbled in unison. It was my family. Or at least the people that I live with. My mom died when I was 7 and my dad got remarried a year after that. His new wife is really young. She's about 27. My dad and Erika had 6 kids together. She had a baby boy last month named Ashton. My family isn't average. They're the rich, snooty kind. They expect everything to be perfect, including me and my love life. We live in a big house because of how many kids there are. We also have 2 cousins from Erika's side of the family living with us. Their parents died in a car accident. My older cousin's name is Josh, he's 19, he's really nice. His younger sister is 13 and is a complete slut. That little bitch screws around with guys just about every week. Her name is Chelsea. The only other people I like in the house are the twins, Ethan and Dylan. I also love Ashton. Everyone else, bothers the shit out of me.

Erika started waving franticly at me as soon as we entered. I let out a sigh and Derek draped his arm over my shoulder "What's wrong?"

"My family." I said and we walked over to their table.

"Hey sweetie!" My dad said.

We all awkwardly walked over to the table. "Hey dad, hey Erika." I said and waved.

"Hi Richard!" Dani said cheerfully.

"Why don't you and your.." Erika trailed off. She looked Austin and Derek up and down. They weren't dressed badly or anything. Really, they dressed nicely. Derek was wearing a white button up shirt with the top 3 buttons undone. Also, he had on some dark wash jeans. Austin was wearing a black and white plaid shirt and dark wash jeans, also. "Friends.... sit with us. We just got here so we haven't ordered yet." She forced a smile on her fake little face.

I fought the urge to roll me eyes. "Um... well actually..."

"Sure that'd be great! Thanks Mrs. Harris!" Derek cut me off. He took a seat between Dylan and Ashton. I sat on the other side of Ashton, between him and Dani. I felt bad for Austin because he sat between Ethan and Dylan.

"I feel so bad for him." I whispered to Dani. She nodded and stood up. I still haven't told her about my new relationship status. Probably should.

She walked over to Austin and sat on his lap. He gently placed a kiss on her cheek and the twins squealed.

"EW COOTIES!" Ethan shouted.

"DANI HAS GERMS! GIRL GERMS!" Dylan shouted. Dani covered her ears to block out their screaming. I didn't blame her. She wrapped her arms around Austin's neck and pulled their bodies impossibly closer.

The boys started to pull on Austin's hair and shirt. They also started to poke his face. "What's on your face mister?" Ethan asked. "It's all scratchy! Does it itch?" He asked curiously while Dylan tugged on his brown hair.

I watched, waiting for Austin to snap at them. Nothing happened so I turned my attention to Derek and Ashton. Derek was playing peek-a-boo with Ashton. I let out a small squeal when he showed his face. "What?" He asked with a confused face.

"You make scary faces sometimes!" I complained and hide my face in my hands. I heard laughter from across the table and looked up. Josh banged his fist on the table, laughing.

The waiter came up and took our orders. After he left, Austin and Derek stood up. "We'll be right back. Just going out for a smoke." Austin said, pulling Dani off of his lap. Derek walked over to me and gave me a quick kiss. Erika's mouth dropped open and her eyes widened.

"I'll come too!" Josh said and jumped out of his seat.

As the boys walked away, Dani came and sat next to me again. "What are you doing with a guy like that?" Erika hissed from across the table. "That is totally irresponsible of you Emma! I don't know what you were thinking!" She said fuming. "Richard, say something." She said, turning her anger towards my dad.

He shrugged and scooted his chair away from her. "Hey boys! What's going on?" He said nonchalantly. He knew, like everyone else, that when Erika isn't happy, it's best not to mess with her. She glared at me once more. She quickly took Ashton out of his high chair and walked away.

A pair of hands fell on my shoulders and I jumped. "Hey babe." Derek whispered in my ear and kissed my cheek.

My dad's eyes flickered to us and back to the twins as he pretended not to watch.

This was going to be really awkward. I'm deffinitely staying at Dani's tonight.
