Chapter Twenty Four | A Rescue Mission

"What an idiot!Does he realise how powerful they are?!"

Sasuki shrugged,Erza growled and she paced around the room."We'll have to send a search party now,a strong team,"said Gajeel.Erza nodded,she thought for a moment and then she looked at us all.A glaze crossed her eyes,she was thinking about Rosemary-who had also been taken."Alright,Ill go with Jellal,Gajeel,Juvia,Gray,Cana,Mira,Wendy and Romeo,"said Erza.Everyone looked around and agreed.Then Levy pushed forward with the exceeds behind her.

"What about the exceeds and I?"

Erza didn't need to think,"you two can scout ahead in case of trouble and Levy,Pantherlily,I need you to stay here"commanded Erza.Levy looked disappointed and I could see why,she wanted to find Gale."Why can't I go?"asked Levy,I looked up at Erza waiting for her answer,I expected a stern answer referring to their levels of magic but it was different."I need you to protect the remaining children.We've lost to many,a strong mage like you,Pantherlily and the twins can protect them,"said Erza.

Levy nodded and she asked for Sasuki and Katsues help to gather the kids so they wouldn't follow.I think Sasuki and Katsue were glad they weren't fighting,after all they were both injured and Sasuki's bad memories of the guild would come flooding back."Lets go,"said Erza.We followed outside the doors,not wasting a moment.I was immediately hit in the face by rain and wind."Keep your head down slightly,it will help!"yelled Romeo.The wind drowned out his words.I nodded and kept my head down as we ran.I didn't know where we were going,I assumed it was their main base.

"Get in!"

I looked up to see Cana and Mira opening a magic car,Cana and Mira in the front.Romeo and I climbed into the back,I sighed in relief as Romeo closed the door.I shivered,my clothes clung to my skin.I was drenched."He's an idiot,if he thinks what he's doing is smart..."muttered Romeo.I leaned against his shoulder as he sat down,my hand resting on his leg."He's brainless sometimes,maybe he thinks he can beat them?"I asked.Romeo shook his head.

"I told Natsu how powerful they were,I told him how what we have seen is nothing!Hes an idiot!"

I could hear Romeos distress,I straightened up and put my hands on his cheeks."You would charge into their main base too if I was taken,"I said.Romeo looked at me like I was wrong,then he thought for a moment and sighed in defeat."I know I would but I wouldn't go alone!"argued Romeo.I shook my hand and brushed his wet hair away,it clung to his forehead,revealing a new scar I had never seen."We can't get a break,"I whispered.Romeo laughed pathetically.

"We really can't,can we?"

I shook my head,I kissed him and put my arms around his neck loosely.Romeo pulled back and we stared into each other's eyes for a moment,"when this is over I want a daughter,"declared Romeo.I laughed and had to hang my head as I held my stomach.I shook my head and wiped my tears,"that was out of context!"I said.Romeo chuckled.I wanted to admit that I also wanted a daughter,but we stopped.I stepped out,gladly there was no rain.But there was harsh wind.

"Why'd we stop?"

Cana stepped out,"Happy found him"said Cana.I let out a breath of relief,but Cana frowned.Had something happened to Natsu?"Happy found something else,that's why we're here,"said Cana.I froze and turned around to see Romeo behind me.I looked back at Cana and Mira who were walking towards a clearing,I could see Natsu.Romeo nudged me,"we have to go,"said Romeo.I nodded and I walked into the clearing.Natsu didn't looked up.

I noticed how everyone was peering through the bushes,I expected a hill or a stretch of land.Yet,as I looked over I scrambled back immediately.The bushes led to a sheer drop!I looked back over carefully,below us was a river that must've lead to the ocean.A few boats were on the shore with an entire campsite."Romeo do you know them?"asked Jellal,I looked at Romeo.His eyes were calculating,he studied each face.Then he shook his head."This is too far of a height.I need to get closer,"said Romeo."Okay we'll all go down-"Romeo cut Jellal off.

"No,only two people.Wendy and I will go,if we get into trouble we'll shout for you."

Everyone nodded,Romeo and I found a way down the cliff.I almost slipped a few times,I didn't dare look down.I know I could easily land,but Romeo couldn't control the air.I breathed in relief as I got to the ground,Romeo landed next to me.We crept forward until a set of boulders came into sight.I crouched behind it.I studied their faces,I remember seeing most of them in the battle.Did that mean Hisao was here?Kasai as well?

"Wendy!Look!Fairy Tail!"

I searched the faces for any members of Fairy Tail,then I saw them.Rosemary stood there with Rhea (Sting and Yukinos daughter) behind her.Rhea was no older then three,shivering in the cold."Rhea!Rosemary as well!"I whispered,Romeo nodded.I searched for any others-mainly Kasai-but ended up with no luck."We need to alert the others,you fly up and tell them while I think of a plan.Have Happy and Carla fly above us in case we need to get out of here,"said Romeo.I nodded and kicked off the ground.

I pushed myself up and landed behind them.Erza stood up and looked at me with concerned eyes,Jellal stood behind her with equally concerned eyes."We found Rosemary and Rhea,Romeo and I will rescue them.Happy,Carla,wait nearby to bring them up here,"I said.I made sure everyone was clear on the plan before I left and flew back down towards Romeo.He was in the same place,thought glazing his eyes.

"I have a plan,Rosemary and Rhea are near the edge of the camp.If we sneak past those few tents there we can grab them and run,no one will see us."

I nodded,but typically that got ruined."Fairy Tail!"yelled a man,he pointed towards us and everyone looked up.I looked over at Rosemary and Rhea and thankfully no one had tried to take them."You fight I get the girls,"said Romeo.I nodded and leaped up,my hair turned pink and my senses sharpened.I took a deep breath,"Sky Dragons Crushing Fang!"I chanted.A brilliant dark blue mark appeared above me,I fell onto my attackers.They flew back.

I dodged attacks from them,then I heard a yell."Wendy,Unison Raid!"yelled Romeo.I nodded and leaped back in the air,I leaned back so I landed facing our enemies.Rhea and Rosemary were behind us.I grabbed Romeos hand,"Unison Raid!"we chanted.The large magic ruin appeared above and below us,a horizontal tornado of wind thrusted forward with black fire swirling around it.

Sand flew up,Romeo and I turned our backs and shielded the girls from the sand.When it cleared we turned to see the destruction-they were knocked out!I turned to Romeo,then I looked above.I called for Happy and Carla."Tell Jellal to get the magic council down here,they can deal with these guys,"I said.Happy and Carla flew off to tell Jellal.I turned to the girls,Rosemary was standing tall and brave but her eyes showed her fear.

"Wen...Wendy!"

Rosemary ran forward and hugged me,she then hugged Romeo."I-I was so scared!Is mum here?Is dad?"asked Rosemary,she looked behind us and then at us again.I nodded and Rosemary let out a sigh of relief.Then,Rhea cried.I picked her up,despite her squirming and slowly hushed her."Its okay Rhea,I'm a dragon slayer!Just like your daddy,"I said.Rhea looked at me,she lifted my pink hair up and touched the wings on my back.

"Where's mummy!And daddy!"

It sounded more as a demand."Shes coming,it's okay,"I said.Rhea nodded and rested her head down on my shoulder.I turned to Romeo,who was holding Rosemarys hand.I quickly boosted myself up to the cliff top,I left Rhea with Natsu before landing back.I floated down and then got Romeo to grab my waist."I'll lift you so at the same time,I can't come down another time,"I said.Romeo nodded,yet with the extra weight it made it much harder.

I landed and Romeo let me go,Rosemary ran to her parents.I watched as Erza got on her knees and hugged her daughter.Jellal smiled and hugged her tightly as well.I sighed,I turned to Romeo and leaned against his chest.I was freezing and tired,I just wanted to climb into bed and sleep for a week.Romeo must've known I was tired,"let's go home,"muttered Romeo.I nodded,we began the walk home.
