Okay, everything is fine, everything is going to be fine, I'm fine, it's a fine day outside, I look fine, just breathe.
Only if it was that easy to do.
I sighed and and came out of the bathroom making sure I looked perfect for today. First day of high school...yay.
I had white skinny jeans on with a floral top, my hair was down, as I usually have it, cascading down my back. I went into my room to grab my backpack and sunglasses, which were look a like ray bans. I sure in hell wasn't going to pay a billion dollars for a real pair. I don't care if I'm exaggerating either. I like my fake ones!
I headed down the hall and down the stairs. I looked at my phone. 7:17. I gulped. I had to be there at 7:40 for homeroom. I clutched my junk of a thing I call a phone.
"You can do this..." I whispered to myself. Yeah I can! I'm so ready! Okay just don't worry about the bad things, focus on the positive.
"Hey brat! Ready for your first day of school as fresh meat?" I wriggled my nose when he called me a brat. I turned around and stood a little straighter. "Of course stupid. Look at me." I gestured to my cute outfit and he rolled his eyes. "Look at me brat, me so good looking." I laughed. My brother was handsome, all the girls loved him. He was captain of the swimming, basketball, and lacrosse team. He was going to be a junior this year.
I looked at what he was wearing. Some cargo shorts with a aqua blue polo. I put my hand to my hip. "Yes, okay, you look good, impressing Bonnie I see...." His face flushed. "Shut up brat." I gave him a sly smile. "You know...I could always talk to her if you want...." He flustered. "No! I mean, I got this...everybody loves me." He mumbled the last part.
Even though that may be true, everybody did know Danny but well Bonnie couldn't stand him and from what I could tell, Danny really really liked her. He's gone out with a lot of girls to fool around. I cringed. I knew this just because there has been a couple of times I have stepped in on him doing stuff and my eyes haven't completely healed from the bad, bad experience.
I plastered a smile on my face and grabbed his chin. "Oh yeah, everybody but Bonnie!" I kissed him on the cheek. "UGH!! EWW! SISTER GERMS! I MUST GO CLEANSE MY FACE!" He ran to the bathroom and I heard the water running. I laughed so hard. "Oh c'mon, I'm clean...and hurry up, we can't be late now!" He came out of the bathroom. "I hate you." I felt a smile disappear on my face and I faked sob. "Oh my gosh! My only big brother hates me." He walked by me down the stairs.
"Yup, you're amazing brother hates you, now will you hurry up so we won't be late." He cheekily smiled up at me from the bottom of the stairs. "Wow, I don't know if your ego will possibly fit through the door!" He walked into the kitchen while I ran down the stairs. "Oh, don't worry, I will make it fit."
My mom was at the table reading the newspaper. She looked up when she came in. Her blond hair was in a bun on top of her head and she was wearing her glasses. She smiled at us and I smiled back. "Aw! My baby is all grown up! Going to high school, I can't believe this!" I rolled my eyes. She got up and pinched my cheeks. I waved her off me. "Mooooom, please! I'm still your baby! But please, never do this in public." She smiled and her dimples showed. She patted me on the head. "Oh, no....right, I wouldn't dare."
Oh yeah, sure you wouldn't mother, sure you wouldn't.
"Hey! I'm still your baby!" My brother whimpered. I laughed. "Oh yeah, you sure are hun." She pecked him the cheek and his face got all distorted again. "Whats up with you women kissing my cheek! I know I'm good looking and all but-" "Please! Let us not go there again." I interrupted him and grabbed a blueberry muffin off a platter. My brother did the same. "Fine whatever, c'mon, let's go." I nodded my head. "Have a good day guys!" I smiled at my mom. "Bye mom, love you see you." She went back to her paper. "Love you see you!" My brother was already out the front door.
