Skaye's POV

I regained control of my body and awoke to see a concerned Keith. "Uh hey..." I say, sitting up. I sit up too fast and bang my head on the frame of the bed. "Ow"

He stifles a laugh and helps me get out of that awkward position. I look at him and almost instantly feel guilty. I can't control myself... I might do something really stupid.

I look up at the ceiling, trying my best not to let my tears fall. Dammit, why do I need to get so emotional?!

He tries to comfort me and puts his arm around my waist. "Are you ok?" He asks. I shake my head. "Not really. I can already barely control myself sometimes, now I can't at all."

"You can. You've just got to be strong" he replies, hugging me. "Who actually is that demon?"

"She's my sister. Her name's Sayuri. She is my other, darker side I guess. I don't know how to control her, she never used to be like this. She's changed so much..." He silences me.

"Look, it'll be fine. You'll be fine." He says, comforting me. I think he's trying to comfort himself too... Why do I need to cause this much pain?

I hear Sayuri in my mind. 'You can't make this last. You know I'm unbeatable. You can't even keep your emotions under control.'

I shut her out and hug Keith back. "She's gonna do something stupid. Probably gonna end up hurting someone." Like you. I don't add the last part, anxious that would upset him.

What about the mission? I can't trust she won't do something dangerous. 'can I trust you for a while?' I ask her in my mind. 'if it's about the mission, you can stay for a while. You know what to do.' That's surprising. She's actually allowing me to stay? 'Thanks Sayuri' I reply.

"Look, it'll be fine" Keith says, unaware of my conversation with Sayuri. "She won't let me stay like this for too long. Come on, let's get going. We have a mission to complete!" I say, standing up and dragging him out of the room.

Keith's POV

I smile as we run to the control room. She seems much more in control than the emotional wreck before.

When we go in, Allura looks at us surprised. "Can we go ahead with the plan now?" Skaye instantly asks, walking over to the princess.

"Sure. Paladins, are you all ready?" She asks, "Keith, a quick word please."
The rest of the paladins make their way to the hangars, while I go to Allura. "Yes?" I cross my arms impatiently, a habit now.

"Is Skaye ok?" I nod and explain the situation. "Ah, ok. So Sayuri will be back later. Hmm... Go to your lion, we have a mission." She orders, waving me away.

Pidge's POV

The mission is go as soon as Keith comes out of the castle. Shiro starts off by attacking the main base, surprising the Galra. Next is Lance, taking out the fleet that is released. Keith joins in, then I go in the base using my cloak.

"How are you doing Pidge" Shiro's voice comes through the comm.
"I'm hacking the system as we speak" I reply, typing at the Galra screen, trying to make it go faster.

"And... I'm in! Downloading the info now Shiro" I close the screen and hop behind the control panel, listening to the door opening, hoping the sentries didn't see me.

The door closes behind the sentries and I hear at least four sets of footsteps. That's too many to take out. I'm trapped as I hear them ready their weapons.

"I need backup" I whisper into my comm. "On it Pidge, I think Keith can handle these fighters" Lance replies to me and Keith complains on the other end.

The blue lion blasts through the wall of the room I'm in and the sentries go for that instead of me. Lance shoots at some with his bayard, and I take out the rest with mine. I go back to the computer and see it's at 73% complete.

It should be done quickly. More sentries come in the room, but are instantly blasted by Lance's gun. It completes and I run out of the room. "Uh, I need a bit of help, they're releasing cargo fleets!" Keith yells through the comm, and I head to my lion.

Skaye's POV

I wait for the signal to go, trying to figure out my lion's power. A slot opens up and it flashes with a bayard symbol. I hear Keith's yell for help and go in to do my job. I slot my bayard into the placement. It glows, then a weapon appears on the screen.

I activate the weapon, to find that it's a poison beam of sorts, melting through the ships and disabling anything else it touches.

I laugh and spin, blasting every ship in my way, then we all focus on the main base. We blast through it and watch it explode. All of the remaining fighters deactivate and fall.

I head back to the castle, and I hear Sayuri in my mind. 'Your time is nearly up'

I speed up to match Keith and go in my hangar. I catch him walking to the training room. "We need to talk" I say seriously, catching his arm. "Yes, we do. I wanna tell you something" my eyes widen at his reply.

What could it be? "You go first" I say as we go through the door to the training deck. He scratches the back of his head. "Uh I think I.... Uh I think I like you" I gasp and hug him.

Well that was a surprise. Jeez, it's hard to hug someone you're shorter than. How does that work? I'm 118 years old, yet I'm shorter than Keith by about two inches. That's annoying.

"Now you. What did you want to say?" He asks, pushing me back a little. I take a breath. "I would guess Allura told you what Sayuri is. She is a blood demon, they feed off human blood. Which means the only way to get rid of her is..." I trail off and rock on my heels.

He nods in understanding. "Sayuri's probably going to attack you, to hurt me the most. Just... Be wary" I say to him. "Thanks for the warning. Shall we spar?"

I nod at his query and grab my bayard, forming a katana. 'Times up, sister' Sayuri whispers in my mind and I black out.
