(Silent prologue plays during opening credits. It depicts Mary’s car breaking down in the middle of nowhere, leaving her to try to find help. She walks in the dark for a while before finally coming across a closed carnival. There are a few cars parked near the ticket booth.)

Mary:

Hello? Is anyone here? My car broke down, I need help. Hello?

Ticket Keeper:

Hello, hello.

Mary:

Do you have a phone I could borrow?

Ticket Keeper:

There are no phones here, my dear. If you’re willing to search, The Ring Leader has a tow truck hidden somewhere.

(Mary, obviously irritated, begins walking through the carnival. Mary, still in distress, sings quietly to herself.)

Mary:

What is it you see, Mary? What is it you see?

I see everything, and everything is about to scream out.

How is it you sing, Mary? How is it you sing?

I sing sadly because I see what is happening,

 and I, I am powerless.

Blind am I, without sight.

Deaf am I, without song,

but now I sing and see clearly, clearly.

I will find my way back home, home.

Yes, I will find my way back home.

(Mary trails off during the last line, as she enters the main area of the carnival. Suddenly, the park comes to life. Music begins playing. Cadet runs in sight, Captain soon follows. They do not see Mary yet.)

Cadet:

Missed me, missed me, now you have to kiss me!

Captain:

I’ll find you one way or another. Your ass will be mine!

Cadet:

Come on brother, I know you wanna fuck me.

(Noticing Mary for the first time)

Cadet:

Fresh meat, fresh meat. Kiss the girl!

Mary:

What are you talking about?

Captain:

Kiss the girls!

Mary:

I’ll just be going now…

(Mary, startled, tries to escape them. Everywhere she turns, one is standing in front of her. Song being sung “We Are All Mad” by Circus Contraption)
