Niall POV
"NIALL GET YOU FAT ASS UP! YOU HAVE WORK TODAY..." My step mom screamed. I was currently sleeping in my so called "bed". See i'm very poor, i live in one of the poor districts in panem... district 11. I sleep on basically a old beat up mattress.
What me and my family do is work in the orchards. It really ruff cause you're never done. I have been working since i was 8... ya not something an 8 year old should be doing but that's how it works here. I'm 16 which mean's i only have 2 more years at the reaping.
What the reaping you may ask? Well it's a day where every kid from ages 12-18 go into there town's square and wait to be called from a bowl... they only pick 2 people if you're those two people well then basically you're going to die we never win the Hunger Games...
The Hunger Games is a game that all these KIDS actual kids fight to the death. It to symbolize that the Capital has power over us districts. I have never been picked and anyone that has been well we never saw them again...cause there 12 district and only 1 survives... so every year 23 people die...
That was until last year on the 74th Hunger Games when Katniss and Peeta played. They are deeply in love and well they both survived they are from district 12...there my hero's but they didn't change the rules.
My name is Niall, I'm 17 and well i only have 2 best friends as of last year.... because you see i was best friends with Rue... and well she went into the Hunger Games and never came out. Anyways i don't want to cry now my best friends are Louis and Lianna.
"NIALL GET DOWN HERE NOW!" My step mom screamed. "I'M COMING!" I yelled from my room which i shared with my brother Greg. I got up and walked into the bathroom...
I walked downstairs... only to see my step mom yelling at my brother to get ready to go into the fields. My brother was way older then me. My step mom was a B**** she was so cruel to us and my dad well he died a few months back.

2 Hours Later
I need a break it's so hot out here. "Louis when is are break time?" I asked. Louis was 17 and he just had one more year of reaping. LUCKY MAN! He had short brown hair with blue eyes. "I think soon, OH i think Lianna has some lemon aid for us, she snuck it from the shop she works at in the Hob..." He whispered. Lianna was my other best friend she had long blond hair and blue eyes. You see we don't get amazing food like the Victor's do. But then again not a lot of people become victor here a lot of the victors come from the capitals favourite the more high end districts and those tributes ( The people that go into the Hunger Games) are called the Careers.
What are the careers? They are guys are rude and stuck up. They practice for the Hunger Games. They usally always win and never has there been a time when they didn't at least end off in the top 5. The careers are only from district 1, 2, and 4. There all evil....
Liam POV
"I can lift more Zayn HAHA!" I said sticking out my tongue at him. We were training. For what you may ask? Only the most awesomest game ever in the world a game were you prove just how powerful you truly are... THE HUNGER GAMES! And i have alot of power maybe this year will be the year. Alot if districts are scared of the Hunger Games just because people die in it... ya i'm kinda one of them but i still wont to go in it.
"NO IT IS ME THAT CAN!" Harry screamed. Harry was my curly best friend. He had long curly brown hair with green eyes. Zayn had short black hair with brown eyes. We were a trio the three musketeers. We were training for the Hunger games. I hope i get picked cause well i'm perfect for the games.
"Do you guys think we will ever get picked?" I asked them they looked up at me. "We will i mean you only have 2 years left." Harry said while lifting a weight. That's true i am only 16, Zayn is 16 also and Harry is 15. Anyways we needed to be picked it was something we have always dreamed about.
"Honey it's time for you to go to work." Zayn's mom screamed/said. She was a quiet women so her screams were just normal talking. You see we lived in district 2 which means we work on carving tools for the hunger games and most of there weapons for it. Best job in the world.
