•Chance P.O.V•
"What was your opinion on Sawyer?" She questions for what must have been the billionth time.
Images of her face flash in my mind, I bite the inside of my cheek, holding back the unwanted tears, "She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful for the way she thought. She was beautiful for that sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved." I say all in one breath. Cathy looks at me with a sad smile, but I just shake my head, I don't need that.
"I found her beautiful for her ability to make other people smile when she was s-sad. No, she wasn't beautiful for something a-as temporary as her l-looks. She w-was beautiful, deep do-down to her soul." I choke out, my throat feeling heavy from the tears I've been holding back.
I cough a bit, not finished with what I was saying, "She was beautiful, but she was beautiful in the way a forest fire was beautiful: something to be admired from a distance, not up close. Yet, I s-still fell i-in lov-love with her." I finally let it out.
I swiftly grab my bag and jacket leaving her office with the door slammed behind me. She should be use to it now, since that's how I usually everyday.
