"When you meet the one who changes the way your heart beats, dance with them to the rhythm for as long as the song lasts." - Kirk Diedrich
Chapter 2. Starting The Sawyer Plan
•Chance P.O.V•
I burst through the doors of Frankie's diner, I should be in school but I need to know. The diner is dead right now, since its mostly teens that come here. I stride up to the counter where Frankie was sitting, reading the newspaper and sipping what I assume to be coffee.
Taking a seat across from him on the other side of the counter, he looks up at me and I watch his eyes widen a bit, "May I help you?" He questions and clears his throat, ditching the newspaper. He seems friendly, I guess; I just have to trust what Britain told me.
"Umm, yeah actually. Britain told me you could help me," I begin, scratching the back of my neck awkwardly. Frankie sits there, tense. I frown before continuing, "I need help finding Sawyer." I state. Frankie lets out a sigh, rubbing his hands down his face.
"She's gone again?" He drawls out, saying it as if it were a normal topic for him to speak about. I straighten out my shoulders and nod my head, letting out my own heavy sigh of frustration. Where'd you go Sawyer?
We sit in silence for a bit before Frankie speaks, "You're in love with her," He states, my head turns so fast I'm surprised I didn't get whiplash. I stare at him in disbelief, how is it, everyone knows I love her?
"How…?" I trail off, looking down at my folded hands, how does everyone know? Is there a sign above my head that says, hey this doofus is in love with Sawyer Queen ?
Frankie smiles warmly at me, "The way you talk about her, you can see the love in your eyes. Don't worry Chance, she's in love with you as well, hence the reason why she's gone." Frankie says, how does he know my name? I didn't tell him.
"Sawyer talked about you a whole lot, I assumed your Chance because the only other people who care about her, are Britain and Meryl." He adds on.
"How do I find her…?" I ask helplessly, I need to find her, I need to hold her close to me and never let her go. I need to save my forever. She's driving me bonkers and she's not even here.
Frankie stands up with a smile on his face, "St. Augustine Florida. Check into a hotel close to the cemetery." and with that, he leaves to the back kitchen.
Guess I'll be taking a road trip

I look at the clock that hangs above the classroom door, five minutes left until lunch, Vincent sits silently next to me as we wait for the bell. My eyes snap up when the door opens, and in walks Riley. She smiles quickly at me before glancing at Vincent. They really need to date already
"Why are you late?" Ms. Cross snaps, glaring openly at Riley, who has her hands shoved into her jean pockets. Her blond hair is a frizzy mess as it swings by her sides.
Riley smirks a little, "I'm late?" She questions, playing dumb as she twirls a strand of hair around her finger. The smirk never leaving her face, here's the Riley we missed dearly. Ever since her fathers death, she hasn't been the same. I wonder why the change in attitude.
"You missed an entire period!" Ms. Cross basically screams, her face all red and her hands balled up into fists and shaking at her sides, well this is entertaining. I hear Vincent chuckle a little.
I watch Riley glance up at the clock quickly, "Are you saying I'm pregnant?" She shoots back, placing a hand over her flat stomach. The whole class bursts into laughter, even Vincent, the guy who never laughs, is chuckling.
