"Get up Hurairah!" Fahad yelled as he pulled the curtains open, letting bright sunlight into the room, Hurairah groaned in pure distaste, and she rolled herself over to cover her face with a pillow.

This had been the routine ever since her father's demise. Hurairah had become reluctant to do anything, but today, Fahad couldn't take her newfound way of living anymore.

"I'm going to count to five, and if you're still lazing around, you're going to see what'll happen to you" Fahad said.

"I'm up!" Hurairah's announced lazily, and she sluggishly got off the bed. Fahad had to grimace when he saw her face. She was a total mess, and he was there to help her revive the Hurairah he knew and loved.

"Get into the bathroom and clean yourself up" he all but demanded and she obeyed his command. He sighed with pity as she disappeared into the bathroom. He hated seeing her like this, it hurt him so much that he wasn't able to help her during her time of vulnerability.

He used the time she was away to clear up their messy bedroom and he even made breakfast. She came out moments later, looking refreshed and very much sober.

"Do you know why she called?" Hurairah asked, breaking the silence. Her mom had called earlier, urging Fahad and her to attend an urgent family meeting, and that was where they were headed.

"Family meeting" Fahad answered curtly whilst bringing the breakfast tray to her"cmon, put some food in your stomach "

He watched as she ate silently, devouring every bit of food he prepared. "Thank you for breakfast" she said to him with a smile when she'd cleared the plate.

He smiled in return.

They arrived the palace in half an hour and were shocked to see the amount of people around. After the meet and greet with different people, they proceeded the meeting. Hurairah sat between Husna and Fahad, and Haroun was faraway from them, but she could still make out his face from the crowd.

"I've gathered everyone here today" the Queen started as she used her eyes to survey everyone present " not only as people, but as family. This kingdom had been ruled by my husband for forty good years, and now he is no more."

The whole place went quiet.

"My husband ruled this kingdom because he was capable of doing so, and now that he is gone, its my responsibility to rule. But who am I ? I'm just a woman who's never had any interest in politics, I don't have the power to handle such responsibilities, so I am stepping down from my throne to give my title to someone reliable, someone I can trust, someone who is just and honest"

Gasps of disbelief could be heard all over. Hurairah scrunched her eyebrows up in confusion and she looked at Husna for some explanation but Husna shrugged in response.

She could already see the big smile that was growing on Harouns face.

"Haroun is going to be king?" She whispered to Husna.

"Maybe" Husna relied.

"I hereby pronounce, in front of the whole kingdom, Hurairah, the Queen of Dayan"

Now, there was commotion all over, Harouns smile slipped away in an instant, and Hurairah had a feeling of déjà vu wash through her.

"Hurairah, my Queen" her mother spoke " step forward to receive your crown".

A panicked look took over Hurairah's face, but fahad squeezed her hand reassuringly. "Go ahead my queen" he smiled.

The walk to the podium was just some seconds away, but with all the eyes watching her, she felt like it was a millennium. The crown was put on her head the second  she arrived the podium, and her mother looked at her with adoration.
