"I can't believe you're getting married before me" my best friend Maryam Basheer complained. " I thought we were a team. We're meant to say our vows together"

"if you really want to get married, then please, disguise as me on the wedding day" I said to her, but she laughed it out.

"I can't do that silly" she said " besides if we're caught, then we'll get into trouble"

All I could give for a response was an indifferent shrug

" I wonder why, you're not happy, if I were you I'd be jumping on my bed right now" she said as she took a sip from her lemonade.

"you're unbelievable Maryam" I groaned, "how would I be happy, when I don't even know who I'm getting married to"

"you know Nina, your mom and dad were united the same way, they didn't know each other, and look at where they are today, they still love each other" she said and I raised my eyebrow at her, when did she become so...... Wise

"when did you go all Chinese grandma wise?" I said , making her to burst into a fit of laughter.

" how's Aisha? " I asked her after her laughter had subsided. Aisha was her sister who obviously had no time for things like this.

" she's fine, Alhamdulilah " she sighed

"when is she getting married?, I heard that sultan guy proposed to her"

"she doesn't want to admit she likes him, but you know Aisha, she wants to start working before she gets married" maryam said and I laughed

"miss independent "

After maryam had left for her home, I became bored, so I decided to call my brother, the one and only Haroun

"hey sis! " he chirped from the other side of the line.

" ya haroun, how are you" I asked him

"Im good Alhamdulilah, I heard my little sister is getting married" he said in a teasing tone, I wasn't  surprised at how news traveled fast , of course everyone in the world knew that the princess of Dayan was getting married to someone who she didn't even know

"who told you? " I groaned, now that haroun knows he'll keep on teasing me

"a little Birdie " he sang and I scowled, which made him laugh.

"tell that little birdie to keep its mouth shut next time, or else"

"well, dad told me, I kind of know him, he's a good guy".

who is he talking about?

"who are you talking about? " I voiced my thoughts out

"Fahad ,your soon to be husband " he said and my heart literally skipped a beat.

No, no this can't be happening, I can't be getting married to that arrogant prince.

"Fahad?, "

" yes, I see you've met him, anyway he's the prince of Kankia kingdom " he told me.

Oh no! , oh no!

I can't get married to...... Oh no, I hung up on Haroun and sat on my bed . I  need to ask baba if what Haroun told me was true.

I exited my room and ran to babas door, I knocked three times before I got a response, baba looked surprised when he saw me

"what brings you here, my princess? " he asked with his eyebrow raised.

" baba, who exactly am I getting married to?, you haven't told me who the man is yet" I said as calmly as I could.

"oh yes! ," he laughed huskily "you know I'm old, I forget things, his name is Fahad" dad told me and I froze

"he is the prince of Kankia kingdom, as you can see, your alliance with him will be perfect. I believe you'll be in hood hands. "

I can't get married to an arrogant prince, and he's here in this town too, I'm sure he must've known he was getting married to me when he saw me at amigo .

I sighed and left babas room, and got a call from Haroun

"what?! " I hissed

"whoa... What happened, I just called to check if you were okay because you hung up on me" he said in defense

I calmed down and then started to sob

"I'm not okay" I sobbed

"what's wrong? what happened!? "

"I don't want to get married" I blurted out, and immediately regretted what I said, telling Haroun would only lead to trouble, he'd tell baba and baba would definitely get mad at me.

I heard a sigh from him and then he hung up on me

My life just took a whole new dramatic turn
