The theme of the ball was white and gold. I decided to wear white because it's the most easiest to find. Don't get me started about the shopping awhile ago. I was so exhausted roaming around Paris and looking for dresses to wear. I also looked for shoes, purse and jewelry to match my dress. Ang masasabi ko lang, walang mura dito. Nanlalaki mata ko habang nakikita ko kung magkano yung mga damit at sapatos. Now I'm here inside my room getting ready for the ball. Ako na lang mag-aayos sa sarili ko. Who knows how much a makeup artist and hairdresser costs? Buti na lang dala dala ko yung mga kaartehan ko sa katawan.
Nang natapos na ako sa buhok which kinulot ko lang, sinimulan ko na yung makeup. I just used neutral colors. Going for a nude look and dewy skin. After getting ready, I wore my dress and I looked at myself in the mirror. Nagulat ako kasi nagmukha akong tao. Kidding. I looked beautiful because of the dress. This dress is Berta bridal. Yes, pang bridal yung binili ko kasi doon ka lang naman makakakita ng maraming selection ng white dresses.

I took my purse and my other personal belongings with me. I went out of my room and there I saw my three handsome bodyguards. They were all wearing a suit that fits them perfectly. When they saw me, all of them were astounded because of what I look. Sabi na nga ba mukha talaga akong tao ngayon eh. They all have that sheepish look na para bang kinikilig. Lumapit ako kay Diego para tanungin kung ready na ba lahat to go downstairs. Pero hindi ako tinitingnan ni Diego sa mukha. So I snapped my fingers in front of him.
"Diego, eyes here." I said while laughing at him. Natawa rin yung dalawa dahil sa ginawa ni Diego. Sabay-sabay kaming sumakay ng elevator patungo sa venue ng ball.
When we arrived at the lobby of the venue, a lot of people were looking at me; mostly men because of how I look. Suddenly I feel so conscious. I felt Colby walking along with me and he stopped me.
"You look beautiful, Ruby. Chin up, okay?" My heart softened because of what he said. Colby went back with the other guys and we all proceed to the venue.
Huge doors welcomed us, when it opened, the people inside stared at me. Maybe because, I'm a new face? I'm not sure but I'm beginning to be uncomfortable. I felt a cold gushed of wind on my skin because my back and front were exposed. I'm aware that men were looking at my boobs and I'm also aware that people were intimidated by my bodyguards. But somebody stole my thunder because Ethan Grant just arrived. Soon the eyes of the people were glued at him. Well, he looks so handsome I'll give him that. Mukhang naligo ata to si Ethan kaya naging tao. Kidding.
Ethan saw me and we locked eyes. He looked at me with such intensity and his mouth formed an O. I felt like he was undressing me. Good god, what's happening? I looked away kasi baka atakihin na ako sa puso. Hinanap ko yung table ko, nang nakaupo na ako yung babae sa harapan ko nakatingin ng masama sa akin. Hala anong ginawa ko dito? Halos lahat ng babae na malapit sa akin ay nakatingin ng masama sa kin. Tiningnan ko yung pangalan ng katabi ko, lo and behold katabi ko si Ethan Grant. Ang malas ko talaga. Hindi pa nga kumakalma yung puso ko sa kaninang staring contest namin eh tapos magiging katabi ko pa siya. Any girl would kill for my spot. Jusko.
" Wow Ruby, you look like a human being tonight." Ethan greeted me with his sarcasm. Argh! Nakakainis. I rolled my eyes at him at hindi pinansin.
"Did you just rolled your eyes at me?" Nagulat na sabi nito. Tiningnan ko ito sa mata andI rolled my eyes at him for the second time around. I like teasing him, madali kasing mapikon.
"And you did it again!" Natawa ako sa reaction nito. Umupo ito sa tabi ko at nabigla ako sa sunod nitong ginawa. He genlty caress my cheeks down to my neck and shoulders. Anong ginagawa ng unggoy na to? When his hand touched my skin, naramdaman ko na naman yung kuryente. Kinilabutan ako sa ginawa niya. Not to mention exposed yung harap at likod ko. We locked eyes again while he's doing the gesture.
" You look beautiful, il mio amore." He barely whispered. Nawala ako ng sandali dahil sa sinabi niya. Maganda daw ako? Ngayon niya lang na-realize yun? Joke!
I looked away kasi masyado nang mainit yung mga tinginan namin. Malapit na ako matunaw. I saw on my peripheral view, he was smirking. I knew it, pinagtitripan lang niya ako.
"Ethan can you stop using other language, kasi ang hirap umintindi lalo na sa monggoloid na tulad mo." sabi ko. Nakalimutan ko kung nakakaintindi ba ito ng Filipino.
"Sino kaya mas mukhang monggoloid sa atin, Ruby?" nagulat ako ng mag-Filipino ito. Nakakapag tagalog naman pala ito pinapahirapan pa ako. Kung nag-mura pala ako sa harapan niya maiintindihan niya. Buti na lang napipigilan ko sarili ko.
The ball started and after an hour it was dinner time. Gutom na talaga ako. Ang tagal matapos nung mga speech ng mga founders ng foundations at mga iba pang mayayaman na hindi ko kilala. Our dinner was served and I was eating peacefully when I felt someone's hand above legs. Nakita ko ang mga kamay ni Ethan. I was about to lash out at him when he said.
"I put the table napkin above your legs. Sayang yung gown mo if ever madumihan." Masasabihan ko na sana siya ng manyak eh. Not gonna deny it but the gesture was sweet. I did not expect that from him.
Nang matapos na ang dinner, the host invited us all to dance on the dance floor. Of course, I just stayed there and ate my dessert. Ethan did not stood up either. I wonder why. Naubos ko na ang dessert ko at halos antukin na ako sa kabusugan. Tumayo ako para bumaba yung kinain ko. Sinundan ako ng tingin ni Ethan and I threw him a questioning look. Lumaki ba yung tiyan ko? Tiningnan ko yung tiyan ko, hindi naman lumaki ah. Anong tini-tingin ng unggoy na to?
"For a petite girl like you, I'm impressed you finished the full-course meal." He said with an amused look in his eyes. I just ignored his statement and I went to the powder room.
There were a few girls inside the powder room. Most of them shooting me dagger looks. A girl came up to me and asked me if I was dating Ethan. I did not answer her and I continue retouching my make-up. But this girl had the audacity to grab my arm and forced me to look at her.
"Answer my question." Ang taray ng babaeng to kala mo naman maganda. Joke.
" Sorry, I don't answer stupid questions from stupid people. Bye, sweetie." I left the powder room and I can still hear the girl's groan. Natawa na lang ako sa ginawa ko. Nang makabalik na ako sa table, wala na doon si Ethan. Malamang nakikipaglandian na yun sa mga ibang babae.
May biglang umupo sa upuan ni Ethan. He's tall, dark and handsome. He has green eyes and wore a very nice suit. Nagpakilala ito sa akin.
"The name's Elijah and you are?"
"Ruby. Pleasure to meet you." I said. He took my hand and kissed it.
"The pleasure is all mine. Do you like to dance?" He asked and I nodded. Wala rin naman nag-aaya sa akin, bakit hindi diba.
