Two days had past and you still hadn't told Taylor about you getting the role and having to leave. You had no clue how to tell him and right now he was happier than you'd ever seen him before. You two had spent the last two days with his family and you both even took Tristen to see a monster truck rally. It was something you would've never had gone to if it wasn't for Tristen begging you to come. Taylor's dad even pulled you aside yesterday to thank you.
"Thank you, (Y/N). I mean, for making Taylor as happy as you do. I haven't seen him this happy in a long time." Kevin explained to you. "He really needed someone like you in his life."
You were afraid that when you told Taylor you were leaving, he would take it much worse than you would expect. Over the next month Taylor was going on tour with Dillon, Aaron, Sam and the Jacks, so him going with you was out of the question. You originally were supposed to go with him on tour but now you couldn't. See, being famous had its perks but at a moments notice you could be swept away to another country for months on end due to filming.
Tomorrow was the day you got on the plane to Iceland and you had to tell him soon. You just had to wait for the right time and now seemed to be it. His whole family had gone out to the store, leaving the two of you alone at his house.
"Hey Tay.. Can I talk to you?" You asked glancing to where he was standing. He looked at you and nodded plopping down next to you on the couch.
"What's up, babe?" Taylor questioned as he made himself comfortable.
"You know how last month I auditioned to be the villain in the new Star Trek movie?"
"Yes, I remember... You were super excited about it." Taylor smiled at you and you smiled back reluctantly.
"Well... I got the part." Before you could finish, Taylor jumped up in excitement.
"Congrats baby!!" Taylor looked proud and happy but he quickly realized that something was wrong when you continued to sit.
He sat back down and you continued talking "There's also some bad news.." he waited for you too keep going. "We are filming the movie in Iceland and I'll be there for 3 months." your voice got quiet towards the end and you watched as his face fell.
"When do you leave?" He inquired trying to mask the sadness in his voice.
"Tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?"
"Yeah."
"When did you find out?" Taylor ran a hand through his hair.
"Two days ago. I didn't tell you because I didn't want to ruin your time with your family." You answered.
He was quiet for a moment, gathering his thoughts. "I'm proud of you (Y/N). I'm just gonna miss you a lot...." Taylor tried to put a smile on his face.
"I'm going to miss you too."
Taylor let out a sigh and pulled you in close to him. "Sometimes, I wish we were just two normal kids."
The day continued on and Taylor wasn't in the best of spirits. You couldn't blame him for that, you yourself were not in the best of moods. You two went out with his family to go see some fireworks. You sat on the hood of Taylor's Corvette with him by your side. He had his hand snaked around your waist and your head was rested on his shoulder. You took in this moment trying to commit every little detail to memory knowing you'd have to leave Taylor soon. You memorized the way he smelled, the way he breathed and the way his hand felt resting on your waist.
That night the two of you went to bed, around 4 am. You sat up talking about any little thing you could think of. You laid in his arms, and he took in your sweet scent, wishing to keep you in his arms forever.
The alarm on the night stand blared your wake up call for the morning. You let out a sigh and looked at the clock. It was only 8 in the morning but your flight left at 10, so you had no choice but to get up early. "Good morning." Taylor said from his spot next to you.
You gave him a smile "Good morning."
The morning, to your dismay, went by much faster than you would've liked and before you knew it, you were in the car already half way to the airport. The car was silent beside the music that was playing softly in the background most of the way to there. You looked out the window, feeling tears begin to form.
"I'll call and text you all the time." Taylor told you breaking the silence. His voice was a little shaky and you turned your head to look at him. He looked sad and his eyes looked glassy like he was about to cry.
"And we can Skype, and facetime." You added.
"Yeah, it'll be like we're still with each other." He was trying his best to sound optimistic.
"I'm going to miss you so much, Taylor." You brought your lip between your teeth, trying to keep the tears from coming.
"I'm gonna miss you too." Taylor pulled into the parking lot of the airport and parked the car. He let out a long sigh, quickly wiping his eyes. You sat there for a moment before reluctantly opening the car door. You walked around to the back opening up the trunk. Taylor had gotten out of the car and his eyes were puffy and red. You had never seen him this way before. He wasn't much for being an emotional person, so when he was you could tell he was super upset.
"I promise you that I'll wait for you and nothing will come between us." Taylor told you, taking in your beautiful features for the last time for a while. You jumped into his arms wrapping your legs around his waist and your arms around his neck.
He held you tight as you cried into his shoulder. "I know you will and I'm not worried about that." you told him in between sobs. Taylor held you in his arms for a moment longer.
"It's time for you to go, baby girl. Smile for me, please don't cry."
You returned back to your feet and looked up at him. His large hand found its way to your cheek and his thumb wiped away the tears. He gently connected his lips to yours commiting to memory exactly how your lips felt. After a moment he pulled away. "Bye Taylor.." You let go of him and grabbed your suitcase handle.
You turned away from him and began walking. You looked over your shoulder to look at Taylor one last time, "I love you." you said to him, giving him a small smile.
He mustered up a tiny grin. "I love you too, (Y/N)"
You looked down at your plane ticket. You were flying on a small private jet, thankfully. You weren't in the mood to deal with people right now. You walked down the terminal wearing one of Taylor's tie dye t-shirts, a pair of jeans and combat boots.
It took you a solid 5 minutes to get to your private jet and those were 5, very difficult minutes. You reached the plane and a flight attendant took your bags. You were greeted by your manager and you quickly dismissed him, not in the mood for his chipper self at the moment. You sat down in your seat, buckled your belt and put in your head phones, drowning out all of your thoughts.
