I woke up in my bed the next morning, but I wasn't alone. I felt an arm around my waist and a head on my chest. I then heard light snores and knew immediately who it was. Zach. I slowly tried to get out of his grip, but that quickly failed as he wrapped his arm tighter around my waist. I sighed in frustration. I looked around, just thinking. I slowly started running my fingers through his soft, brown hair. He stirred a little, but soon drifted off again. My alarm then went off and Zach started to wake up. He opened his eyes and lifted his head. He looked at me.

"Good morning," he spoke up in his morning voice, while a hair fell into his face.

"Good morning sleepyhead," I replied, laughing slightly. He gave me a confused look. I reached my hand up to his face and moved the strand out of his face. He smiled at me. I giggled, placing my forehead on his. I looked up at the time. 8:01 am. I looked back to Zach.

"We'd better get ready," he stood up and held out his hand, helping me up.

"So we're going to go river rafting today, do you want to go ahead and put your swimsuit on?" I asked him, standing at the entrance to my bathroom.

"Yeah sure," I nodded and quickly grabbed my black one piece and black swim shorts. I changed and put my hair up into a messy ponytail. I walked out of my bathroom to see a shirtless Zach digging through his suitcase. I quickly covered my eyes and looked down as my cheeks started to turn red.

"Why are you always shirtless when I walk out of my bathroom?" I asked him. I could practically hear him smirking.

"Uh maybe because you're cute when you blush," I couldn't see, but I could definitely tell that my cheeks turned 10x as red as they were before.

"Oh my gosh shut up," I giggled slightly. I suddenly heard footsteps coming closer.

"Maybe I don't want to," I saw his feet standing right in front of me.

"Zach whatever you're thinking, stop," I could hear him chuckle. I could feel his breath on my ear as he whispered.

"No," he then moved so fast that I didn't even realize what was going on, until I felt him tickling me. I fell to the floor laughing.

"Zach stop!" I managed to get out through my laughter. He continued tickling me for the next few minutes, while I continued to scream at him to stop. He stopped and let our laughter die down. It was only when we stopped laughing, when I realized the position we were in. I was lying on the floor and Zach was hovering over me with his knees on either side of my body. His hands were right next to my head and his face was hovering over mine.

"Hi," he said slightly above a whisper.

"How's your eye?" He asked me quietly. I nodded.

"It honestly feels a lot better," I told him truthfully. For the next few minutes I just stared into his eyes, unable to move or make a sound. He unconsciously started leaning down, but before his lips could connect with mine, I put my hand on his bare chest. He stopped and looked me in the eyes.

"We'd better get going," I whispered. He nodded and stood up. He walked over to his suitcase and quickly pulled out a shirt, putting it on, while I stood up. I stood at the door and waited for him. Once we were both ready, we walked out the door. Most of the day was awkward. Very awkward. Due to our 'almost kiss' our conversations were very limited. They were very...um...well there were no conversations between us. At all. Before lunch, we met up with Nathaniel and played Gaga ball together. I had scraped my knuckles a couple times, Nathaniel had asked if I was ok every time. I always nodded, not saying a word. I couldn't help but think back to mine and Zach's almost kiss. 'Did I want to kiss him? What would've happened if we had kissed?' I shook my head trying to get those thoughts out of my mind.

"Are you ok?" Nathaniel asked. I nodded. Zach had hit the ball, scraping his hand a little too hard on the concrete. He held his hand to his chest and looked at it.

"Ow," I run over to him and whisper in his ear.

"Are you ok?" He nods his head. I grab his hand and look at it. It didn't look too bad, but blood covered where he had scraped his hand on the pavement. I stood up with his hand in mine and dragged him out of the pit. I walked him over to the bathhouse and walked in. I walked into the girls bathroom and luckily there were no girls in there. I had him sit on the counter as I grabbed a washcloth that the camp provided. I wet the cloth and rung it out a little. I carefully put the cloth on his hand as he cringed.

"Ow," I looked up at him.

"Sorry, it's gonna hurt a little bit," he laughed.

"Yeah I noticed," I laughed slightly and continued cleaning his hand. After I had cleaned most of the blood, I went back to the closet and grabbed the first aid kit. I put the box on the counter and opened it. I picked up the bandage and unwrapped a little of it and tore off the amount I needed. I quickly wrapped his hand and looked up into his eyes.

"There. All done!" he smiled at me and jumped off of the counter. He held the bandaged hand in front of him.

"How did you do that?" I gave him a confused look.

"What?" He looked up at me.

"You knew immediately what to do. How?" I look down.

"Growing up, I spent most of my time with my aunt on my father's side. She just so happened to be a nurse. After her son died, she moved off to California, to 'get away from the memory'. I've never seen her since," I looked up to Zach. He smiled sadly at me. He stepped closer to me and put his hands on my shoulders.

"Thank you for helping me," I looked up at him and smiled.

"Of course. You're my friend. And I don't want to lose you," he smiled.

"You know I'm not gonna die right?" I laughed.

"That's not the way I meant, but ok," after our laughter died down, he looked at me.

"Sorry about earlier. I didn't intend for what almost happened to...happen?" He questioned himself then looked up.

"Is that the way to say it?" He asked looking back at me. I shook my head.

"I don't know," I smiled at him as he laughed and rubbed the back of his neck.

"It's ok. It could've happened to anyone," I look at him and smile. I look at my phone and look at the time.

"Great," Zach looked at me confused.

"What?" I showed him my phone. His eyes widened in realization.

"We missed lunch," I nodded.

"And the bus for the river leaves in five minutes," I look at him.

"And it's all the way on the other side of camp," I tell him and roll my eyes. He looks at me and smirks. I give him a confused look.

"What?" He stayed silent. Suddenly he ran out of the bathroom.

"Race ya!" I rolled my eyes playfully and ran out of the bathroom.

Hopefully we make it before the bus leaves...
