I saw Aster and Daniel, and also another girl and boy that I didn't recognize. I looked over to Zach and saw his wide eyes. He walked over to the curly headed boy and hugged him.

"Bro it's been forever since I've see you!" He said then pulled away.

"Hey Zach! What are you doing here?" Zach looked back at me and walked over to me and grabbed my hand, dragging me over with him and to the unknown people.

"I'm going to camp here, with my little buddy," he said happily, wrapping his arm around my shoulders. I shyly and awkwardly waved at the curly headed, brown eyed boy. I awkwardly looked away as Zach looked between us.

"Oh I'm sorry, Winter this is Jack, Jack this is Winter," I smiled and looked at 'Jack' I looked over to his friend. She was tall, kinda like Aster, except a couple inches shorter. She also had darker skin and brown eyes. She smiled at me. She had pearly white teeth. I smiled back and looked down shyly, hiding behind Zach a little. I put my hand on his arm , near his elbow, as He looked back at me.

"She's kinda shy," he said, then turned to me. He leaned his head down towards mine and gently lifted my head a little. He tried looking into my eyes, but I turned away.

"Hey it's gonna be ok. Jack's a good friend of mine. You don't have to be afraid of him, ok?" He asked, lifting my head up all the way with his middle and forefinger. I looked into his soft brown eyes and was suddenly comforted by just looking at them. I nodded and smiled softly.

"Ok," I whispered so only he could hear.

"I trust you," He smiled and nodded, then turned back to Jack.

"So, Jack, who's your friend?" Zach asked, reaching his hand down to mine and softly taking hold of my smaller one. I looked up at him, surprised. I then looked back over to Jack. He looked at his friend and smiled, looking down to grab her hand gently. He looked back up at her, his smile still shining brightly.

"This is my girlfriend, Jasmine," he looked at her with a look that I haven't seen in a long time. He looked like he was absolutely in love with her. I admit, that I was kind of jealous of the way he looked at her. I just wish that I'd had that again. I looked down and leaned against Zach's arm, as tears started welling up in the corners of my eyes. I blinked away the tears as Zach's hand left mine and found its way around my waist.

"So Zach, are you and Winter dating?" Jack asked, curiously. He looked at me as I looked up at him. I wondered what he was going to say next, but was saddened by his next words.

"Ah no actually," he looked over to Jack, "we aren't. We're just friends," I looked down, kinda sad that he said the truth. I don't know why I was sad though. We'd just met a couple days before going to this camp.

"Really? Cause it looks like you guys are," I heard the curly headed boy say. Zach tightened his grip on my waist slightly. Zach laughed, nervously. I looked up slightly.

"Ahaha no. We're just really good friends," he said scratching the back of his neck. I lifted my left hand and intertwined my fingers with his that rested on my waist. I could feel his head turn down to look at me. Before things could go any further, our guide spoke up.

"Well how about we head on out," she spoke, breaking the awkward tension. I nodded and walked around Zach. I bent down to pick up the handle on the side in the middle, as everyone joined me and our guide. We put the raft in the water and started sitting down. The order went like this:

Front
Daniel Aster
Me Zach
Jack Jasmine
Guide
Back

"So I want everyone to sit in between the side of the raft and the seat," I looked down and saw a crack between the seat and the side, and sat down.

"So, I have a couple of rules. 1. You have to always listen to what I tell you, so we don't flip. 2. You are not aloud to say cold, freezing, or any word pertaining to that or else I, or anyone else in the raft, will push you into the water. You are only aloud to say refreshing. Got it?" Everyone nodded.

"Well let's head on out shall we?" She asked and I heard a series of yeah's and ok's. We used our oars to push off of the concrete that we were previously standing on and started paddling down the river.

"So, would anyone like to sing some songs?" Karissa asked. Zach looked at me and I shrug my shoulders. He laughed silently and turned his head the other way.

"Well since no one is offering I guess I'll just have to teach you a song, is everybody up for that?" I heard Daniel and Jasmine say 'yeah' while the others just nodded.

After about thirty minutes of singing and laughing, I heard some yelling, coming from the other rafts.

"Umm what's going on?" Daniel asked. I looked back to Karissa.

"Well looks like we are in a pirating area. Basically the other people in their rafts try to push other people in. But I want everyone to try and push someone in as well," we all nodded, well, they all nodded and got ready to stand up. We paddled to a raft with a group of people from our school, Zach immediately standing up to try and cross over to their raft. He succeeded and pushed about three people into the water with the help of Aster. She did a little victory dance, until she was pushed in by a girl much older than her. Jasmine took on one person that I knew from school, but I couldn't seem to remember his name. She pushed him in as someone crossed over into our raft and tried pushing me in. I was struggling against his strength and tried pushing him into the water. He almost succeeded at pushing me in until I heard a voice.

"Winter!" I turned and saw Zach hopping back into our raft. He tried pushing the unknown guy away, but failed and ended up having both of us fall into the water. I hit my head hard on something and blacked out.
