"Can you hand me that?" Ashton asked me as he pointed to one of the many tools that I don't know the name of. We established this when he asked me earlier to hand him something and I thought he was speaking gibberish, so he just points now.

"Almost done?" He nodded his head as he stepped back.

"Yup, all finished." He put all the tools back in a duffel bag and put the strap over his shoulder.

"Thanks, for fixing it. My grandma would have wanted to do it on her own if you hadn't and i'm not sure how that would have turned out." I giggled. He was very tall with super curly brown hair and gorgeous hazel eyes. He had a super sharp jawline as well.

"No problem, it was my brother who broke it so..." He laughed and called his siblings over. They were skipping rocks by the edge of the lake. "You guys good?" They nodded and Ashton started to walk away until his sister stopped him.

"You should invite Janelle to come hiking with us tomorrow." I heard her whisper shout into his ear. She had a huge smile on her face and gave him a wink. She was so adorable.

"You sure?" Ashton asked and she nodded her head. "Okay." He shrugged and stood up. "Janelle, would you like to join us tomorrow for a little hiking?"

What should I say? It would definitely be more fun than sitting here, "Umm, sure if your okay with that?" I fiddled with my hands and smiled a little.

"Not a problem at all."

"Okay." I giggled and walked back to my door.

"Pick you up tomorrow morning." He said with a smile and walked down the sidewalk with his siblings back to there house I assumed.

---

"Janelle, someones here for you." I heard my grandma say as she walked into my room. "Janelle, wake up there are people waiting for you, mija."

"What?"

"The boy who broke the window is asking for you." Shit! I forgot to set an alarm.

"Crap! Okay, let me get ready. Tell them i'll be out in a couple minutes." I ran to my closet and picked out a t-shirt and some running shorts with some old running shoes and went to brush my teeth and put my hair up into a ponytail. I grabbed a small bag and went to the kitchen where everyone was waiting to grab some water and snacks.

"Overslept?" Ashton asked and chuckled.

"Yeah, sorry. I'm ready now though so lets go." I was halfway out the door when my grandma stopped me.

"Be careful bebe," I nodded my head and tried to leave again but failed. "Janelle, i'm happy you made a friend." She said, I smiled and hugged her.

"Te amo abuela." I met up with Ashton and his siblings and we started walking.

"So, I don't think I intruduced you guys last night but this is harry," He put his hand on his brothers head. "And this is Lauren my sister."

"Hello." I'm so awkward. Obviously I need to get out more. We walked a little bit more until we got into the wooded part and started going uphill. It was so beautiful. The tree's were so green and the air smelled so pure.

Ashton ran around chasing his brother and sister. It was cute how they would cling onto him and he would toss them onto his shoulders. It looked so fun! I wish I had a brother who would have done that with me. "So, how long have you lived here? Or are you just visiting?" I asked them.

"Umm, we're not sure right now. We're just going to handle that at the end of the summer..."

"Oh, so are you with your parents?"

"Uh, just my mom." He said and scratched his neck. We walked a couple more miles until we got to the top and there was a bench where we all sat and ate some snacks.

"I love it up here." He said.

"Me too, I've never been here until now." I took out some apple slices and peanut butter.

"Oh! Could I have some?" Lauren asked.

"Lauren? Come on?" Ashton said and she sat back down.

"No, its fine I brought too much food anyways." I handed her the bag and took in the breeze and the sun. I loved the sound of the wind rustling in the tree's. It was so peaceful.

"So, why do you always just sit out by the lake?" Ashton asked me.

"Umm, I don't really have anything to do I guess." I started to turn red from how embarrassed I felt. I am such a looser.

"Oh, well. What are you doing tomorrow?"

"Just sitting by the lake or helping my grandma around the house." I laughed.

"Let's go ride horses. My mom has a friend who owns a farm and they have horses."

"That sounds fun. I've never ridden." Ashton laughed.

"What have you done?" He laughed. I assumed he was talking about the fact that I don't get out much.

"Umm, I used to live in New York. So, whatever people do in New York I guess."

"That's a long way from North Carolina..." Harry stated.

"Yeah, I only come in the summer but i'm pretty sure this is the last time I come."

"Why is that?"

"Well, I graduate from high school this year so I have to get a job and college and stuff." I laughed.

"Oh, I forgot people still go to school. Harry and Lauren are home schooled and I graduated almost two years ago." He closed his eyes and took in the sun rays.

"Wow, so no college or job?" I asked. His head popped up and he quickly changed the topic.

"So, you guys ready to start walking down?" The kids grabbed there stuff and we started our hike down.

When I got home they made sure I went inside and walked away. I went up to my room and opened my journal as I sat in my bed.

Today I had fun.

It was the most i'd ever written in it since my parents passed away.
