"So, my mom wanted me to invite you to dinner." Ashton said as we walked back to his green pick up. It was around lunch time and we just finished riding horses. It was pretty peaceful, I had a little trouble getting on the horse but after a couple tried I got it.
"Oh, really?" We started driving to this sandwhich place the kids wanted to go to.
"Yeah, harry and Lauren really like you so my mom wants to meet you." He smiled and looked back at them through the rear view mirror. Harry had already fallen asleep and Lauren was listening to her ipod and looking out the window.
"Aw, i'm happy." I laughed.
"Yeah, hey," He paused for a couple seconds. "I was wondering if you would like to go to that fair downtown?"
"Sure, that sounds fun. I think the kids would enjoy it too." I smiled and he smirked.
"I meant like, just us." He let out a nervous laugh. It was really cute and I blushed a little bit from my ignorance.
"Oh, well. That sounds just a fun." He parked in front of the restaurant.
"Cool," He looked back and shook harry so he would wake up. "Let's go buddy." We all got out of the car and went inside to get some food before we sat down. It's small but they have such good food! I don't know why I havn't come here before.
When everyone finished Ashton drove me home and waited for me to get through the door before he left. He was a gentleman like that. "Abuela?" I yelled and she shouted for me to come into the living room where she was tending to my grandfather. He was sitting on a recliner watching a soccer game. I leaned on the wall and watch him and my grandma. He still held that admiration for her in his eyes that I saw in the pictures from when they were younger.
I remember he told me a while back, "I will never forget a woman like your grandma." He didn't lie. To this day he still recognizes her. He held out his hand for me to come and sit next to him. I gave it to him and he gave me a sweet little kiss on the top of my hand before I sat down.
"How are you doing today?" I smiled, he smiled back but of course could not respond verbally.
"He has been a little whiny." My grandma complained and went to go clean the bathroom. She has always been a very hard worker. Ever since I was young I remember her with a broom in hand or standing at the kitchen sink washing dishes.
I sat with my grandpa for about an hour watching the game with him before I told my grandma I was going to get ready for the dinner at Ashton's house.
"You've been busy lately, mija. You like this boy?" She smiled and came up to my room with me.
"He's nice, and so are his brother and sister." I smiled and went to my closet to get a pair of shorts and a normal Hollister shirt.
"Where are you going with that?" My grandma stopped me.
"To the bathroom..."
"Mira loca! You are going to meet people today, do you not remember how to dress?" She snatched the clothes from my hand and I couldn't help but smile. She reminded me of my mom. They are both very independent and fiesty. I am more like my dad was, reserved.
My grandma handed me a pair of dark wash jeans and a light pink blouse with some lace toms. "Here, wear this." I grabbed it and walked into the bathroom to shower before I get dressed. My hair was already wavy so I didnt bother to do it but for my grandma's mental health I put on some mascara, blush, and lipstick.
It was already five thirty and Ashton told me to be ready by six so he could pick me up. I couldn't drive and he didn't want me to walk.
I went downstairs and did the whole awkward wait for the time to leave when he showed up. "Hello, asston." I heard my grandma say and snorted as I walked into the kitchen.
