"Live from Channel 4 your local news channel."
Reporting new incoming news, president joins forces with president of Ghana. Stay tuned for new information.'I didn't hear half of that but I don't like the sounds of it.'
"-WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" My dad said making me jump losing my train of thoughts.
"How can OUR President just go and be allies with a country like that and not say anything about it?!" He yelled and I was still a little shaken.
"Dad I'm sure it's not that bad-" I say trying to sympathize trying to calm him down. "LYLA GO TO YOUR ROOM, WHEN AN' ADULT IS TALKIN' YOU DON'T INTERRUPT. YA HERE ME?"
To this point you can almost see me shaking as I quickly stand up and leave the room. "Yes pa." And I run up the stairs 'I never say anythang' right. It's always I'm too young or the adults are talking, and young kiddos can't do that. Especially since ima' girl. I ain't even that young, I'm 16. I can do anythang' I want I don't need no adult tellin' me what to do.' I think as I tromp up the stairs into my bedroom.
I walk into my bedroom, which is decent sized, It's big enough for me at least and I grab my journal and ball point pin with my cousins writing on it in gold sharpie. I twirl the pen around watching how it sparkles reading the wording on it "Eat more, Exercise less. -Makayla"
I smile remembering Makayla. 'Which I haven't seen her in almost a year.' I realize that I've just been standing and looking at a pen for about three minutes and I go to my bed and lay down. I open up my journal and title a page "Things to remember:
1: Don't talk while an adult is talking."I close the book shut feeling satisfied with myself and sigh. I slip my journal underneath my pillow so that no one can read it. It's not like there is anything in there I don't want people reading , i just don't want people to take it.
I hop off my bed and go to my drawer and pick some pajamas to wear just putting on some shorts and a loose shirt. 'Today has been another long day of being yelled at.' And that was the last thought I had before collapsing on my bed and falling asleep.
