I Fell in Love with my Neighbor

Chapter 3

When we got home i went to my room. I dropped my backpack on my bed and started to do

my homework.

"Emily! I'm going to the store. I'll be back in a few" my mom yelled.

"Okay mom!" I yelled back. I started to hear loud music

"Turn it down Hailey!" I yelled.

"Thats not me!" She responded, yelling back. I opened my window and saw shirtless Derek

lifting weights. The music was coming from him. I starred for awhile, until he saw me. Then i

quickly turned away. He then opened his window.

"Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer." He smirked.

"Can you please turn it down?"

"Sorry no can do. Music is my motivation."

"Whatever." I returned to doing my homework. Then i was interrupted, again.

"Knock knock." It was Hailey.

"Hey, what's up?"

"You like him."

"What? What are you talking about?"

"The boy you were just talking to."

"Were you spying on me?"

"It wasn't spying."

"I don't like him."

"It's so obvious you do. The way you looked at him."

"If you don't mind, i have to do my homework."

"Fine but you know its true." Then she left. Maybe it is true. Who am i kidding? I totally like

him.

When i finished with my homework i went downstairs and headed towards my backyard.

"Hey mom."

"Hi, where are you going?"

"Outside with Max." Max is my dog

"Feed him while you're at it."

"Okay, see ya." When i went outside i couldn't find him.

"Max, come here boy!" I saw a happy Max running towards me.

"There you are." i gave him his food. When he finished, i played with him for a bit. That is

until he ran to something.

"Ugh, Max what is it now?" I followed him.

"Cute dog you have there." It was Derek.

"Thanks, he really seems to like you."

"Ha i know, what's his name?"

"Max." i said smiling.

"Hi Max." He said petting him. "Well now that i've met Max, what's your name?"

"Emily. What's yours?" I still had to ask even though i already knew.

"Derek. Nice to meet you." He smiled

"Nice to meet you too." Of course i smiled back. "Well, i should probably get going"

"Uhh yeah me too. Maybe i'll see you later?"

"Yeah, maybe." Then i walked away. When i got inside dinner was ready.

"Emily dinner is in the microwave. I'm leaving to work. I love you guys."

"Ok mom. See you tomorrow. I love you too." When she left, Hailey and i ate dinner. We

talked about our day at school and then we went off to bed.

"Goodnight Hailey."

"Goodnight Emily." I shut my door. I did my night routine which is: brush my teeth, wash my

face, and put on my flannel pjs. I turned off the light and went to sleep with a smile on my

face. My first day of school was alright.
