I Fell in Love with my Neighbor

Chapter 4

Derek's POV

"Hi mom." I said as i walked downstairs.

"Good morning sweetie. Go take this to the new neighbors with Abby." Abby is my 14 year old

sister.

"What is it?" I asked

"A pie to welcome them to the neighborhood."

"Abby!" I yelled.

"What?" She yelled back.

"Get dressed and come with me."

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"To the neighbor's house."

"Oo yay. I saw that they have a daughter my age."

"Lets go." When we got there i rang the doorbell. A young girl answered. It wasn't Emily.

"Hi, i'm Abby and this is my brother Derek." I waved. "We're the neighbors next door. We

wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood and give you this pie." She continued .

"Thank you, i'm Hailey btw. Can you hold on for 1 sec?" She asked.

"Sure." I responded.

"You can come in and have a seat."

"Thank you" Abby smiled as we sat on the couch.

"Emily! Can you come down for a sec?" Hailey yelled. I looked upstairs and there she was.

Her brown eyes shining like the sun, loose curls falling perfectly down her back. 'Snap out of it

Derek! You have a girlfriend.' My conscience spoke to me. I don't like Megan like that.

Sure she is hot but you sleep with her a couple of times and she thinks you're a couple.

"I didn't know we were having company." Emily snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah me neither. This is Abby and you probably already know Derek" Hailey said.

"Yeah we've met" i said.

"Hi. Excuse us. We'll be back." She smiled and went off to the kitchen with Hailey.

"Somebody has a crush." Abby mumbled.

"What? Me? I don't like her."

"Of course you do. I was watching you when she came downstairs. You were starring at her

as if she was a princess."

"Ha, whatev-" i was cut off.

"Hey sorry about that." Emily apologized.

"No problem at all." Abby added. There was an awkward silence for a second. Until Abby

spoke up.

"Why don't you guys come to school with us? Derek can drop us off first then you two just go

to your school. Right Derek?"

"Right." I gave her an evil glare.

"What a great idea. Mom is still sleeping so, i'm sure she would appreciate it." Hailey added.

"Oh no. Its ok i can just drive us Hailey." Emily said. You know, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

"I insist!" I said.

"Pleeeeaaaaase." Both girls pleaded. After she got tired she finally agreed.

"Oh alright! Just please stop that. We'll be ready in 30 minutes."
