Chapter 6

The day finally arrived. It was a Friday afternoon, the sun was setting, and nervousness and excitement filled the air. Only 10 minutes till he would get here.

Dawn stared herself down in the mirror. 

Dress? Check.

Shoes? Check.

Adorable/Flirty hair? (according to Luna) Check?

Integrity/Dignity/Mind? Dawn had lost it somehow.

"Oh come on Dawn! Dont be such a wus." Luna stated. There was no way Dawn would back down now, not after what happened. Luna wouldnt allow it.

"Pleeeeeeease Luna!" Dawn begged. "I've changed my mind, I dont want to go." Dawn struggled for an excuse. Anything not to go. She was so scared.

"I uhh... I have cramps. See?"

Dawn threw herself to the ground and groaned in pain while grabbing her abdomen.

"Ohhh so much pain!! I dont think I can go." Dawn groaned out while putting on a very convincing pained face.

Luna rolled her eyes and put her hand on her hips. 

"Get your ass up! You're ruining my work."

Dawn slowly picked herself off the floor and slumped her shoulders as she walked out the room. The only reason she didnt want to go on the date now was because she was super nervous. Jet just made her so... 

She couldnt describe it, but even if they had only known each other for a short time she felt like they were so close. She trusted him. Actually she trusted him with a lot of things. Things she wouldnt trust to a stranger. Jet was no stranger.

"Oh, and make sure you look him in the eyes when you talk to him. Guys love that stuff." Luna was going on and on about something and Dawn had not been listening.

"I'm sorry, what? I did not hear a word you said." 

Luna stopped talking and closed her eyes tightly. "Lost case! You're a lost case!" She said while throwing her hands up in the air and walking towards the stairs mumbling to herself about how she never listened to her advice.

Dawn rolled her eyes at Luna and followed her down the stairs. Dawns mom was waiting for her at the end of the stairs and smiled approvingly. 

"You look beautiful hun" She said sweetly. Dawn walked over and hugged her mother tightly. "Thanks mom" She whispered.

Suddenly the smell that had Dawn weak in the knees came to the air. Her mother had a look of concern and confusion on her face but it quickly went away. 

The doorbell rang and Dawns heart beat loudly in her ears. She swollowed loudly and walked to the door grabbing the handle. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. 

"Will you hurry it up?! No- just move. Jesus!" Luna exclaimed stomping to the door and opening it. 

There stood a very handsom Jet in a navy blue button down and jeans. Dawn bit her lip looking at him up and down. Jet mirrored her actions. Luna stood in the middle looking at the two with disgust. Dawns mother frowned while saying a soft 'Oh dear" under her breath before taking herself upstairs. 

"Umm, you look really good." Jet said looking down and scratching the back of his neck. "Definitley not as  good as you." Dawn said. Jet popped his head up. She slapped her hands over her mouth.

"Well on that note, I think you two should get going," Luna said giving a big fake smile to the love birds. "Have fun!" She said before pushing the two out of the door. "Dont do anything to crazy!" She yelled as they walked to the car. "Umm, Protection is important! I dont want to have to call MTV!"

"LUNA!!!" Dawn yelled.

"What, I'm being serious!"

Dawn rolled her eyes and Jet chuckled. "Im sorry about her. She can get a little bit out of hand."

"Oh, dont worry. I know how you feel."

"So what do you have planned?" Dawn asked.

"Its a surprise, I think you'll like it." He said 

"Oh, now I'm nervous." Dawn laughed nervously. 

"Dont be! I promise it will be fun!" 

Dawn smirked. "Okay,"

Jet hit the steeringwheel nervously while blowing out air from his mouth loudly. Dawn giggled a little at his nervousness and reached over to turn on the radio. V.3005 by Childish Gambino came on. "Oh my gosh I love this song!!!" Dawn shouted and  turned it up.

Jet looked at her puzzled as she began to sing the lyrics. She had a beautiful voice, Jet thought. 

"Hold up, wait a minute, all good just a week ago. Crew at my house and we party every weekend so,On the radio, that's my favorite song made me bounce around, like I don't know, like I won't be here long-" Dawn paused mid rap to see Jet staring at her with wide eyes. "What?" She said looking at him innocently. "Uhh what was that?" 

She laughed at him. "My hidden talent; mediogre rapping." She said in a serious tone.

"I'm not gonna hate." He said hands up in surrender. She laughed at him and grabbed his wrist, placing them back on the wheel. "You wont get to hear more if we both die." Dawn joked.

"I dont know if I want to hear more." Jet mumbled. 

Dawn smacked his arm. "Asshole," She mumbled as she sunk down in her seat. "A good looking asshole." He added.

She couldnt argue. So she just sighed and crossed her arms. 

Dawn was relieved. She felt so at home with Jet there and her nervousness had faded away the more they talked and joked around. Maybe this date wouldnt be the disaster she thought it would be. Dawn could only hope.

OMG I updated!!!!!!!!! 

I know I've been gone for like ever and I'm really sorry for that. I just got lazy and honestly all I do now is stay up late and then sleep and repeat. I'll try to get these updates in though. They'll soon be slow but I wont leave yall without an update that long again. I promise. I hope you guys liked this chapter though. I know its short, but I just got back from black friday shopping and I'm really tired so I did my best. Make sure to leave comments and vote!!
