Chapter 5

"Are you sure?" Dawn asked Luna as she twirled around in the dress Luna picked out for her. It was a black dress without sleeves. It had a transparent type material on the top towards the chest that was a very light almost silverish that would show her collerbone. 

"I swear I have never been more sure in my life." Luna said smiling brightly.

"You dont think its too dark I mean what if he thinks its too dark?" 

"Girl have you ever heard of the little black dress? He'll love it, trust me." Luna said reassuringly. Dawn gave her an unsure smile and checked her reflection one more time before making her decision. Hopefully he liked it.

Once Dawn paid for the dress Luna decided to drag her into yet another store so that she could get some matching shoes.

"Oh no Luna, I am not wearing those." She said staring at the devil himself.

Luna walked up to Dawn with a box that housed some killer nude heels.

"You could kill a man with those!" Dawn exclaimed.

"Oh calm down and try them on," She said while chucking them both at Dawn. Luckily she caught them with precision accuracy and slipped them on her feet. It was a squeeze since she wasnt used to wearing anything like that on her feet. It was strange. What if she had to make a run for it! She couldnt run in those!

"I dont think I can stand up." Dawn said seriously. Luna looked at her with a disapproving glare. 

"You are a lost cause,"

"Oh come on, just help me up will ya?" Maybe if she could get a hang of walking in them then she could run in them. Yeah! She'll try that.

Luna grabbed Dawns forearm and helped her on her feet. Dawn wobbled a little but soon gained her balance.

"This isnt that bad," She said smiling. She was giving herself false hope.

"Exactly what did I tell you. Now just take a step."

Dawn, looking like a newborn baby deer, slowly walked up and down the rows of shoes gaining confidence with each step. Sure her tongue was stuck out in concentration and she probably looked ridiculous, but Dawn knew she could master this before the big date. She was sure of it.

Wait, Date? Why was she doing this?

Boy.

She stopped.

Love. 

Her eyes snapped shut.

She felt herself shudder and her chest felt so tight. She couldnt breathe. This wasnt happening. Her biggest fear was creeping up on her. She needed to stop it here.

Dawn removed her shoes slowly. She felt so disconnected from her body, like she wasnt there. She needed to go.

"Dawn-" 

"I'm going home, here." Dawn said, handing Luna some money for the shoes. Luna nodded and took the money. Dawn started to walk away, but Luna grabbed her wrist. She couldt stand to see this. "Luna-" She gasped. She needed to leave. She couldnt stay here.

"No, Dawn you cant run away forever." Luna looked so hopeful. Dawn couldnt stand it.

Dawn yanked her arm away from Luna and turned her back to her. Her voice came out small and weak. Not like ususal. It surprised her. "Dont you think I know that. I'm trying so hard not to fall for him Luna, but I just cant get away."

"Then don't... Don't run away," Luna said with determination in her voice. She couldnt run away forever. "This is a fight you cant win."

The was the icing on the cake. Dawn clenched her fist and grimaced. "I'll see you tomorrow." She said with clenched teeth and then she left. Luna watched her go and then collected her things. No way did she expect that to happen. She didnt even understand. Certain things just triggered Dawn she guessed.
