I stood next to Ramonda and Shuri as we waited for T'Challa to get back from his mission with Barnes. I was a little angry since he decided a mission was more important than our three year anniversary.
Yes, my husband left me on one of the most important days of the year for us.
I know it was selfish for wishing he was here with me instead of helping save the day but it didn't help that I was pregnant and already irritated with how the day was going. I woke up expecting my handsome husband to be sleeping beside me but it was empty. The only thing I had was a letter telling me why he wasn't there.
I thought he was using an excuse to throw me off because he was really planning a special day for us, but when Shuri told me that he really did leave I was pissed. The whole day was filled with hot flashes and people checking on me about the baby and the special day. It seemed like everyone cared but T'Challa.
I know he wasn't the type to not care or better yet forget the day he married me. He wasn't that crazy.
We all patiently waited as the Panther Jet landed and the doors opened revealing "The Mighty Three"; T'Challa, Okoye and Nakia.
Everyone bowed as he walked the path to us while I stood there glaring at him. He didn't notice though. "Mother!" He kissed Ramonda's cheek then moved on to doing his handshake with Shuri until he finally landed on me and my belly. He placed his hand on my bump, "My beautiful queen." He aimed for my lips but I turned my head so he connected with my cheek. T'Challa pulled away to show the look of confusion that he shared with everyone else.
I just briefly smiled and turned around to waddle away leaving a stunned crowd behind.

7:00 pm
The family surrounded the table as we all ate in silence. Ever since my petty silent treatment started no one bothered to talk to me knowing I'll snap and knowing how dramatic I am, it may hurt me and the baby. Of course T'Challa had to open his mouth to talk about the reason I was in this mood.
"So the mission went well. Minus the fact I had to harm Barnes." Gasps was heard and questions were being thrown around. I zoned everyone out as I stabbed at my food. Okoye, who was sitting next to me, leaned over and grabbed my hand. "Are okay my queen?" The attention was now turned to me as I sat back and crossed my arms. "Beautiful?" T'Challa touched my cheek and at the moment I started to release the tears I've been holding back. I pushed his hand away and started back eating.
"What did I do?"
"It's what you didn't do, Challa!"
He still had a confused look own his face but I kept going.
"I woke up this morning expecting some alone time with my husband and a nice day with just us! Instead I find an empty bed and a letter saying you left for a mission."
T'Challa smiled and grabbed my hand, "But baby, we have alone time every other day. This mission was important!"
"Today wasn't just any other day! The mission was that more important than our anniversary?"
"Anniversary? What are you talki-" He cut himself after seeing the look on my face and now I know know why he wasn't here.
He forgot our anniversary.
I was stunned and just stared at him while everyone was scolding him. "T'Challa is this true?" Ramonda squinted at him as his eyes never left mine. I could see he was regretful and apologetic but I didn't care.
