Under the pouring weather behind the dark alley of the street, a small town boy was hiding underneath his black, worn out cap, stealing glances into the busy crowd hastily passing by. Some of them were cursorily running to find bolt-hole from the heavy rain. Some were rather laughing and ludicrously playing with the grayish liquid in the rattling sidewalk.
The water was self-moving due to the heavy movements of every step and every beat of all car engines present parading in the busy street. A minute later, the small boy placed a small glimpse of tug across his side lips when he spotted a flamboyant man who'd past by any minute soon towards his way. He hid clandestinely, like he thought he wasn't fully hidden yet. The boy narrowed his eyes and painstakingly calculated every second of the passer's step. One by one.
When the man passed by, he would immediately snatch the premium golden watch that he spotted on his right wrist and will go straight to the pawnbroker's small shop nearby. He was sure it will cost more than 200 pesos rather than some scanty coins like last time where he exchanged two pairs of silver rings but got ten coins and two loafed bread back instead. Though, the latter was quit helpful during those past nights with nothing to eat but the nearly-spoiled spongy dough.
Two more steps and he'll have chicken meat for dinner.

The young boy's movement was fast as a lightning. His tiny hands automatically went straight to dissemble the golden treasure from the man's wrist without him knowing. But, one wrong was moved and the world had turned its back to the young boy's front, now becoming dubious. It seemed like the flamboyant man was the rapid sound before the lightning, the one that was faster and more ingenious than him.
The man caught the young boy from his shoulder. The young boy's eyes went wide and looked up to the man with pure fear and embarrassment. No, not from getting caught rather from the fact that he thought he was adept. But, look at where he was now.
The man looked down at him. His eyes held pure rage. His jaw was clenched same to his fist, the other one without a watch. Looking up the man, the ten-year old boy already knew that he met his doom. Right in front of the scary, tall man.
