"ALL I CAN BREATHE IS YOUR LIFE
AND SOONER OR LATER IT'S OVER"
. . .
"Do not leave until dark." Demetri warned, leaving the Cullen's and Bella in the brightly lit receptionist area. Clara had only been in this room once before and that was 10 months ago. She hadn't been outside of the castle since. The red head stiffly took a seat on one of the beautifully polished chairs a few steps away from them. She ignored the looks from her siblings and Bella.
She needed time to think.
She was no longer under the safe roof of the Volturi. She needed a new game plan. One where the outcome could potentially be positive. And the only positive outcome would be if she found him first. She would have to hunt him. Was it a bad idea? Probably. Would she die? Most likely. But her family and Paul would be safe.
Her crimson eyes were trained to the door leading into the castle. She swore she could still hear the cries of the humans that not moments earlier were murdered. Her throat felt dry, hoarse. Her thoughts were scrambled between hunger and panic.
"You'd better make her sit before she falls, she's going to pieces." Alice whispered softly grabbing Bella's shoulder and leading her to the sofa, Right besides Clara's chair. Clara could hear Bella's fast heartbeat and her scent filled her nostrils. It lulled the girls brain calmly, her mouth starting to water.
Clara stiffly got to her feet, pulling the chair along the tile floor loudly. She moved it closer to the corner. She hadn't fed in a few weeks, being in a small room with two humans was torture. It was tearing her apart mentally. She held her breath, leaving her lungs with no oxygen.
She wasn't aware of her surrounding by this point. She was trying so hard to keep her hunger in check as well as keep herself distracted. She started to think about Paul. It was the only way things would get better. She yearned for his touch and his soft lips. She wanted to hold him and play with his dark soft hair.
"I've never been in better control of that side of my nature than right now." Edward whispered softly down at Bella.
"Atleast that makes one of us.. I need to get out of here. I can't think straight." Clara whispered frantically, standing up from her chair and pacing farther away from Bella. "They did this on purpose. They want a reason to pull me back in there."
Alice silently stood up from beside Edward and Bella to pace with Clara. Clara slowed down, allowing the small girl to follow her. "When was the last time you fed?"
